With some people having difficulty deciding whether to buy an iPhone or Android, or if to switch from an iPhone to Android, perhaps they need to try buying and Esti Eye, an iPhone case designed by an Israeli company with a built-in Android phone. The bizarre phone case allows the user to have an iPhone on the front and an Android phone on the back. Israeli tech company Esti has probably come up with the most ingenious solution to the age-old dilemma of choosing between the two iconic phone systems. Esti has launched a sort of “Frankenphone” case that allows users to turn any iPhone into an iPhone-Android hybrid.
The hybrid invention is called the Eye with a built-in Android phone at the back of a phone case while the front can house an iPhone. The case costs around $189 or £155 and also includes an additional 2800mAh battery that can be charged wirelessly (so it is an iPhone case after all) using a specially designed phone holder. The Eye can use the iPhone’s speakers, microphone, and cameras even when the latter is attached to the phone case.
On the back of the phone case is a standalone Android powered smartphone that uses an fHD 5-inch AMOLED display screen and is protected from damage by a wrap-around curved design. The Android phone comes with two SIM slots, a headphone jack, 256GB of storage using an additional Micro SD, lightning port, IR blaster and receiver, and with hard polymer with hard rubber on top of case for inserting the iPhone. The phone case is compatibly a fit for the iPhone 6, 6s, and 7, as well as their plus-size alternatives. It also runs on 3GB of built-in memory and an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor.

According to Esti CEO Joseph Sabri, the Eye can be called a ‘revolutionary’ product that can take any iPhone to the next level. Sabri says in an interview, “During the past two years, I have worked with a talented team of researchers and engineers, researching and planning and designing the ultimate product that will make your smartphone advanced, elaborate, innovative and much more. Eye will upgrade your iPhone by adding the most-wanted features to your smartphone.” A Kickstarter page was launched in February to raise funds for the new device. The company has now reached its funding target of £78,000 or around $100,000 and the phone case will be released all over the world as soon as August or September of this year. It initially sells on Kickstarter at $100 and the later retail price will be $190. Color choices will be in black and white.
