Whenever you decide it’s time for a new phone, whether because it’s not working or you want the latest and fastest, there are likely some basic things you do. For example, you might do a ton of research on various phones before settling for a specific one. Then you might talk to the customer service reps at the mall to see what else they can tell you. While that’s all fine and dandy and will help you in your quest, Microsoft, HTC and Orange are trying something a little different in Poland.

Largest smartphone ever? HTC Titan with 4.7-inch LCD and Mango

One way to set off Windows Phone 7.5 Mango with a bang is to release the largest smartphone that your company has ever produced. That seems to be the strategy being taken with HTC, because here is the HTC Titan. It is indeed the largest smartphone from the Taiwanese company ever, boasting a godly (see what I did there?) 4.7-inch WVGA 480×800 pixel display.

Microsoft collecting location data from WP7 without user consent

Oh geez, here we go again. Earlier this year, we learned that Apple has been secretly recording geolocation data for all iPhone users without their knowledge and consent. Well, the Cupertino crew aren’t the only ones doing that. They’re doing it in Redmond, Washington too.

Three new Nokia phones with Symbian Belle operating system unveiled

Moving forward, we thought that Nokia was largely dedicated to the Windows Phone 7 platform, but it looks like they’re not quite ready to give up on Symbian just yet. In fact, they just created a new updated version called Symbian Belle and it’s being offered in three new smartphones: the Nokia 600, Nokia 701, and the Nokia 700.

Fujitsu-Toshiba IS12T first device to run Windows Phone Mango

We’ve been hearing about the Mango update to Windows Phone 7 for a very long time, but we had yet to see any kind of official release. That has now changed, because the first Mango phone has been officially unveiled. It’s the Fujitsu-Toshiba IS12T. That’s the good news.

Nielsen Breaks Down Smartphone Market Share by Brand and Age
