CES: First Hands-On Golden-i Visual Headset Display

Verizon Wireless at CES had Golden-i on display. The rugged headset is aimed to public safety and field work applications where visual data can be fed to the wearer. This is not so far away from Terminator T-800 facial scanning and recognition technology we saw in the sci-fi flick from 1984.

Review: AAXA P4 Pico Pocket Projector Embeds Windows CE

The AAXA P4 is being touted as the world’s brightest battery-powered pico projector. There may be brighter, but they need external power sources. In the case of the P4, you get an impressive 80 lumen LED light engine to go along with that DLP projector. This gives you up to an 80-inch image, which is easily big enough for most boardrooms.

X10 ‘Mobile Internet Device’ boasts 7-inch screen, outputs 1080p HD

This device totally came out of left field, because it’s still unclear exactly who the manufacturer is and what badge it will carry. What we can tell you about the X10 is that it’s a mobile Internet device (MID) and comes with a high-def surprise. Beyond the fairly standard seven-inch (800 x 480) touchscreen display, you’ll notice that this MID comes with the ability to output 1080p HD content over an HDMI connection. Great for sharing videos on your HDTV, but with only 256MB of RAM I wonder if performance will be an issue.
