Check out how you can get the T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 for just $105 (well sort of) with no contract.

The post T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 For $105 appeared first on Mobile Magazine.

Those who have been trying to get your hands on the T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 via a great deal but worried about the “out of stock” signs everywhere, should try this new way to get the handset for the lowest price ever. Now, the device can be yours for a very low price of $105 (well, sort of). All you have to do is follow the steps written below.

Go to a local Microsoft Store to purchase the 521 for $149. At the store, talk to a representative and come to a deal of a price tag of $129.88, the handset’s price at Walmart. Then go to “Bing it on Challenge” and compare Google and Bing in a blind test, for which you will be awarded a $25 gift card. And if you use that card, the device’s price has come down to $104.88.

The Lumia 521 is coming with a 4-inch screen, a 5 megapixel camera, HD video recording, 8GB storage (expandable up to 64GB), 512MB of RAM, 1GHz dual-core processor, and it supports 4G (but there’s no LTE). The device is one of the best budget phones available at the moment.

Thanks to WP Central for coming up with this great way to get the Lumia 521 on-the-cheap. Anyone try this method yet, did it work for you?

The Home Shopping Network started offering the Nokia Lumia 521 on T-Mobile last week and it’s currently being listed as sold out, although they resupplied the stock once. That’s not surprising as their $149.95 deal certainly makes the Windows Phone 8 handset one of the best budget phones out there. But Walmart has come out with an even sweeter deal.

The 521 is available on the Walmart website with a price tag of $129.88 without contract. But this deal does not seem to involve any free accessories, such as the car charger and screen protector available from HSN. But, unsurprisingly, the device is out of stock almost immediately, although it is available in some of its stores.

Just to remind you, the 4-inch 521 features a 5MP cam, HD video recording, 8GB storage (expandable up to 64GB), 512MB RAM, 1GHz dual-core processor, and it supports 4G (but no LTE).

Those are quite decent specs for the very low price. If you are planning to switch to Windows Phone over a more established iOS or Android, then this is the deal for you. But we are not sure when Walmart will have the handset back in stock again. We will keep you updated, so stay tuned to Mobilemag.

If waiting for great deals on gadgets is the way you roll and if you are fond of doing a lot of shopping at Walmart, then you will be glad to hear about this new deal. They are offering a $70 e-gift card when you get a Nook HD+ tablet from Barnes & Noble.

Both the 16GB and 32GB models, which cost $269 and $299 respectively, are available. So if you are someone who frequently shops at Walmart, then the offer is giving you a chance to truly pay $199 or $229 for an impressive 8.9-inch tablet with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor (when you factor in the $70 card). Indeed it’s a great deal especially when we think about the 8-inch, lower-resolution iPad Mini starting at $329.

So, are you interested in the deal? It’s a great deal and a great tablet. If you are still not moved, maybe you probably went for the earlier deal. And certainly there is the possibility that all these Nook-related deals are pointing towards the arrival of new devices from Barnes & Noble. We will let you know when something new comes up. In the meantime, you can check out the Walmart product page here if you want to get in on the deal.

The long awaited Galaxy S4 was introduced a month ago by Samsung, but people are still playing the waiting game as there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding the release date of the device on any carrier. The good news is that we won’t have to wait too long, at least if we are to believe the leaked document from Staples that you see above.

The leak suggests that the S4 will be available from AT&T on April 26, T-Mobile on May 1, and Verizon on May 30. Of course those launch dates are “tentative”. There is no mention about the S4 model on the Now Network and no pricing details for the handsets sold at Staples. As for T-Mobile? The ‘uncarrier‘ earlier confirmed that they will make the Galaxy S4 available on May 1st.

AT&T recently announced pre-order starting date of April 16 for the S4, and they will be offering both the 32GB and the 16GB models for $249.99 and $199.99 respectively, with a two-year contract. T-Mobile is expected to offer the device for $99.99 down with 24 monthly payments of $20.

Meanwhile, another leak says that Walmart will start taking pre-orders for S4 on April 16th. No hints on which carriers are involved, but Walmart currently offers the S3 on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

In short, the wait for the next big thing is almost over. Are you anxiously awaiting the Galaxy S4? If not, what handset holds your fancy instead?

Here’s a word to the wise. If you’re going to try and print some counterfeit money on your cheap inkjet printer, at least don’t try to return said printer to the store with some of your funny money still inside. Better yet, don’t try to return said printer without a receipt and then raise a huff in the store.

Apparently, Jarad S. Carr of Wisconsin wasn’t quite so wise, because he did exactly that. We don’t know if he actually bought the printer at Walmart, but that’s where he went to return a regular old inkjet printer. He didn’t present a receipt and the store staff refused to take the return. He raises some trouble, the store associates discover that inside the printer were some bad fakes of $100 bills printed with that printer. The staff call the cops and Carr was arrested.

I guess it goes to show you that the same criminal mastermind who tries to pass off fake Benjamins produced with a regular inkjet printer on regular paper is the same kind of criminal mastermind that would leave them in there when they try to return the printer. Without a receipt. Maybe he should have tried using a Nintendo DS instead. That really prints money, right?

Good news, prepaid fans: Walmart’s Straight Talk Wireless is now offering he iPhone 5 and iPhone 4, contract free.

While these phones have been available from Walmart since the device launch back in September, they were only sold with a two year contract from Walmart. Now Seong Ohm, Walmart’s senior vice president of Entertainment said, “Now customers can have the coveted iPhone with unlimited talk, text and data without a contract”.

The phones do however have a pretty hefty price tag, $649 for the 16GB iPhone 5 and $449 for the 8GB iPhone 4. Don’t worry, Walmart has thought of that as well.

Walmart is offering a financing plan for the phone, at $25 per month. And all this available with a no contract $45 unlimited talk text and data plan, way cheaper than my unlimited plan.

With all the pre-paid companies using the major network towers anyway, you essentially have the same service as paying more with one the contract companies but at a bargain price.

As well as Walmart, Radio Shack and Best Buy are also offering the phone. Last November, Apple began selling an unlocked version of the iPhone 5 which allows users to use the phone for prepaid.

Personally I’m starting to wonder if these prepaid plans are going to be the new standard. I feel like the pre-paid customers are over in the corner with their iPhone 5s pointing and laughing at me because I don’t have an upgrade for another year.

Looking at many other countries outside of North America, prepaid service is quite a bit more common practice, after all. Are you a Straight Talk customer already? Will you be making the switch to an iPhone? Or are you a contract customer thinking about making the pre-paid switch?

Imagine your delight if you wake up on Christmas morning and discover there’s a special gift waiting for you under the tree. You unravel the wrapping paper and discover it’s a Nintendo 3DS! You’re happier than the Nintendo 64 kid, until you actually open the box and discover that it’s filled with rocks and tissue paper. That’s even worse than a lump of coal.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened to a poor boy from Talladega County in Alabama. His well-meaning mother went to Wal-Mart to buy the portable gaming system for her son, but she didn’t know that the box didn’t contain a 3DS at all. Scam artists had apparently bought the 3DS, kept the system itself, but returned the box full of rocks and tissue paper to simulate the missing weight. The Wal-Mart staff never checked the box when processing the return and the faux 3DS ended up on the shelf for the Talladega mom.

This isn’t the first time that something like this has happened. There is a similar scam going around where people are returning iPad boxes filled with paper notepads. I’ve also heard of someone returning a flat panel HDTV with an oven door in its place instead. The lesson here for retail management, as if it weren’t obvious enough, is that their employees should really be checking those returns before refunding the money.

On the bright side, the Talladega Wal-Mart did give the mother a replacement 3DS after she told them what had happened, but I think that poor boy isn’t exactly feeling great about that whole experience.

Wanting to get your hands on a Google Nexus 10 for the holidays? You are not alone, and unfortunately it seems you won’t be able to snag one in time.

The Nexus 10 was listed on Staples site yesterday and has been struck with the sold out curse. Walmart online is also as of today showing the Nexus 10 as Sold Out.

This leaves us wondering if the initial supply sent to retailers was adequate or were there really just that many people clamoring to get one. The tablet is also out of stock at the Google Play Store.

This could be seen as good news in forms of an adequate competitor of the Apple iPad. For consumers, though? This trend of “sold out” status on Nexus items in particular is definitely getting frustrated, and it would seem manufacturers should step up supplies in advance.

Where you one of the lucky few to get a hold of the Nexus 10?

Looking for an exceptional deal this holiday season? You aren’t alone. When it comes to holiday shopping, things get expensive in a hurry. Good news is that there are also quite a few bargains around this time of the year, and Walmart’s smartphone special is one of these deals.

So what’s going on over at Walmart? Basically any qualifying Android or Windows Phone 8 device comes with an $100 Walmart gift card per phone order, this applies to online and in-store purchases. Even better, Walmart has pretty decent selection on phones, and the pricing isn’t half bad either.

Here is Walmart’s pricing on just a few of the hottest phones around right now, all of which qualify for the gift card promotion:

Nokia Lumia 920 – $69.99

HTC Phone 8x – $249.99

Samsung Galaxy S3 – $149.99

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – $399.99

Motorola Droid RAZR M – $79.99

As you probably already knew, all of these phones require two year contracts, though a variety of different carriers are represented for some of these phones. It’s also worth noting that there are MANY more Android and Windows Phone smartphones covered in this promotion than the few I mentioned above.

What do you think, do you plan to take advantage of the Walmart $100 Gift Card promotion this holiday season?
