“It’s a no-brainer” according to an ad by Virgin Mobile to promote their campaign that is aimed at T-Mobile prepaid customers. The Sprint-owned MVNO is offering $100 in unlimited-plan credit to customers willing to switch their phone number from T-Mobile to Virgin Mobile.

As you can see below, the numbers are certainly attractive. If you make a switch before May 31st you will save a total of $334 in two years and that includes the $100 credit. There is a $55 per month plan for unlimited data (3G speed after 2.5GB, while T-Mobile offers 2G after that limit), messaging and talk service.

That plan costs $5 less than what T-Mobile is currently asking for its monthly package, but don’t forget the speed difference between Virgin Mobile’s EV-DO / WiMAX service and T-Mobile’s speedier HSPA+ / LTE.

Check out the creepy ad below, completely if possible, and tell us what you think about it. And are you planning to make that switch?

Black Friday is over, but Cyber Monday is here and that means quite a few interestingly online-only deals for today only. One of these deals is from Virgin Mobile, the Sprint-owned prepaid carrier.

If you are considering ditching your contract account and want a prepaid device that isn’t a total pushover, today is the day to make the leap. Virgin Mobile some kick-ass deals here.

First, we have the HTC Evo V 4G for only $150. This 1.2 GHz dual-core smartphone with a 4.3-inch qHD smartphone and 1GB of RAM. Other specs include a 5MP rear shooter, a 1.3MP front cam, 4GB internal storage, microSD, a 1630mAh battery and Android 4.0 (with Sense 3.6).

Next up, the Samsung Galaxy Reverb is just $100, offering a 1.4GHz single-core processor, 4-inch display, 768MB of RAM, a 5MP rear cam, and Android 4.0.

Want an even cheaper deal? The HTC One V is only $50. What do you get with that? A 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor, Adreno 205 GPU, 512MB of RAM, 4GB ROM, microSD, 3.7-inch 480×800 display, and a 1500mAh battery. Other specs include a 5MP rear cam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, and Android 4.0 (Sense 4.0).

If you happen to be in part of the United States that gets solid Sprint coverage, you really can’t go wrong with these deals. Sure, none of these are lightning quick smartphones, but at prices between $50-$150, you can’t really go wrong.

What do you think, tempted to make the move to Virgin Mobile to take advantage of these epic Cyber Monday deals?

Recently Virgin mobile released a plan with Spotify to give you more access to the music you want, when you want. The Spotify subscription includes other mobile features such as data and call, but obviously the main attraction is the built in use of Spotify’s premium features.

The biggest and most well-known feature of Spotify premium is to access all the available music on the go, straight from your smartphone, and today we’ll be looking at what the Spotify Android app has to offer.

The Spotify Android app gives us quick access to more than a life time’s worth of music, no matter the genre. The application has been designed with simplicity in mind, and it’s clear that this design has stayed true throughout the application.

The front page gives us access to the most popular new releases, as well as downloadable playlists created by our Facebook friends, as well as their most listened tracks. You’ll also see your listened music posted to facebook, making it extremely easy to share new sounds through your social sites.

If you’re looking for a certain artist or album, the search engine can help you to pinpoint exactly who you’re looking for. The search will look through song, album and artist names, but for those looking for a certain genre of music, the search bar is a little lacking, and you’ll find search results based on the title information.

The radio station helps to remedy the above problem though, by allowing you to search for stations dedicated to certain genres, or an artist’s name, a station will be created with songs matching the genre of the information you’ve provided. The radio station feature is very similar to the workings of Last.fm, and to integrate them both into a music experience on the go, you can collect your scrobbling information straight from your last.fm profile to use in Spotify radio.

If you can’t access the internet whilst out and about, Spotify mobile allows you to download playlists straight to your smartphone. Whilst browsing music you can long press a song to access options such as ‘share’ ‘add to’ and ‘star’ to make finding your favorite music easier later on, but most useful is adding your music to playlists, allowing you to download almost every song you could need to listen when offline.

Spotify is all about giving the user control over what they listen to and how, and the Spotify app for Android follows suit. You have control of audio quality, crossfading, radio stations, playlists and a whole lot more. Spotify has really strived to make listening to music a much simpler experience, and although there is a price to pay for premium services, it is very much worth it.

Want to get a mobile broadband connection that you can share with your buddies? Want to get it at a reasonable price? You’re in luck, because the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 is on sale for 60% off. This works with the Virgin Mobile service in the United States.

At roughly the size of a thicker business card, the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 is super easy to carry around and it can provide you with a high-speed personal hotspot just about everywhere that you go. You can connect up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices at the same time and you can do this without having to sign up for a contract. It’s compatible with both the 4G and 3G networks, which Virgin is offering through the nationwide Sprint PCS network. The MiFi range is up to 40 feet.

The Broadband2Go plans from Virgin Mobile start at $35 per month, giving you unlimited 4G where available and 2GB of 3G data where it’s not. You can bump that up to $55 a month to get 5GB of 3G data, while still retaining the unlimited 4G data. Pick up the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 for $59.99, which is significantly cheaper than the $149.99 list price.

Virgin Mobile, in many respects, is meant to be a second-tier carrier. After all, it’s basically the little brother to big bro Bell. That doesn’t mean that its phone selection is coming up short though, as evidenced by a leaked Q4 roadmap.

You can already find the HTC Legend at Virgin Mobile Canada, but more Android is on the way in the form of a Samsung Galaxy S. It’s not quite as clear when it comes to what version of a Galaxy S is on the way, but it does indicate a November 15 launch day. That’s the same day as the Samsung Galaxy 550, which is also known as the I5500 and Galaxy 5.

That is, unless the mention of the Galaxy S is a typo altogether and we are only expecting the Galaxy 5. I can see how someone would confuse a 5 (five) with an S (ess). Either way, it’s an Android thing.

Prefer something else? On November 9 (next week), Virgin Mobile Canada plans on launching the BlackBerry Bold 9780. This is just a minor upgrade from the 9700, but it’s an upgrade nonetheless.

It used to be that Virgin Mobile was the cheap alternative and it was loaded up with all the cheap phones. That’s not the case anymore, because the carrier is getting just as many hot devices as its big brand counterparts. Looking at this leaked Q4 roadmap, there are more than a couple phones to catch your attention.

For the BlackBerry-touting folks in the audience, the two handsets that will likely catch your eye are the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and the BlackBerry Torch. The former is slated for release on October 21 and the Torch shouldn’t be that far off either. If Android is more your thing and the HTC Legend didn’t cut the mustard, you might want to take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S. It’s not entirely clear which version of the Galaxy S that Virgin will be getting, since there are so many, but it’s a reasonably safe bet that it’s the same as the one that Bell gets. Rounding out the list of new launches are the Samsung Gravity 2 messaging phone, LG Sway, and LG Flick. These aren’t as exciting as the smartphones, but they’re probably more affordable. The lines are blurring, my friends, between budget and mainstream brands.

Even if you can’t find a Wi-Fi hotspot? It looks like Virgin Mobile has you covered and it’s actually a remarkably affordable option. That’s because they’re offering unlimited data via the MiFi device for just forty bucks.

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple of years, the MiFi is a credit card-sized device that will translate the mobile broadband connection into a WiFi hotspot. Other devices like the Novatel USB modem work. This way, any WiFi-enabled device can connect to the Internet, including notebooks, netbooks, tablets, and smartphones.

The new $40 unlimited MiFi plan from Virgin Mobile (Piggy backed off Sprint) is the best (current) deal in the country by about $20 a month. That’s unlimited data folks. This new 30-day plan kills off the old $20/$40/$60 tiered data of old. If you want to save a few bucks, you can still opt to pay $10 for 10 days of access, but that caps off at just 100MB.

Update: PC Mag reports that this is delayed due to “technical difficulties” however, Virgin Mobile’s spokeswoman Corinne Nosal said its only for a few days.

The whole Android scene in Canada is about to get a heck of a lot more interesting. One of the most highly sought after devices is the HTC Legend and it’s coming to the land of the maple leaf. Today. As in, right now. It has been officially confirmed that the HTC Legend Android smartphone is available through Virgin Mobile Canada as of today. It’s not on their website yet, so it could be an in-store only thing for the time being.

If the little brother gets the phone, the big daddy should get it too, right? As it turns out, Bell Mobility will also be grabbing the HTC Legend, but it won’t start selling the smartphone until June 17. This has also been confirmed by “inside sources.”

As a quick refresher, the Hero-esque HTC Legend gets its power from Google Android 2.1 and the HTC Sense user interface. IT also features an aluminum unibody construction, 3.2-inch capacitive AMOLED display, optical trackpad, 5MP camera, 3.5mm headset jack, 600MHz Qualcomm processor, 3G, WiFi, microSD slot, and GPS.

Virgin Mobile will sell the HTC Legend for $79.99 with a three-year contract and, presumably, Bell Mobility will offer similar pricing.

Just because you want to have an unlimited plan doesn’t mean that you have to break the bank. This comes from an unverified source, but it seems that Virgin Mobile is about to unleash one of the cheapest “unlimited” plans that I have seen for some time. How cheap? How does twenty-five bucks sound?

Looking at these new Virgin Mobile plans, the $25 unlimited plan will give you unlimited text, unlimited email, unlimited data, and unlimited web. That’s a lot of Twitter updates and YouTube videos! The downside is that the $25 plan only comes with 300 anytime minutes.

If you’re the kind of person who tends to chat a little more than that, you can bump up to the $40 a month plan. It’ll give you the same unlimited features, but you get 1200 anytime minutes. For truly unlimited, there’s the $60 plan with unlimited minutes. BlackBerry users, for whatever reason, are on the hook for a $10 premium on any of these three plans.

I don’t talk much, so the $25 unlimited “Beyond Talk” plan sounds awfully appealing. I wonder if they’ll be offering anything similar to Canada.

On a related note, three new phones should be launching with Virgin Mobile soon too. There’s the LG Rumor Touch ($150), the Kyocera Loft ($70), and the BlackBerry Curve 8530 ($300).
