“Keys, phone, wallet: these are the only three things you have to remember.” That’s exactly the same mentality I have about leaving the house and I make sure I always have those three things. But what about keeping that phone charged? Carrying around a bulky AC adapter or USB cable just won’t do and that’s why Noah Dentzel, Adam Miller and Brian Hahn came up with the ChargeCard.

The idea is actually really simple and straightforward. It’s a credit card-sized device that can effectively work as a USB charge and sync cable for the iPhone. The USB connector simply flips out on a flexible arm and then the other end of the ChargeCard goes into the dock connector your iPhone. They only have the Apple-friendly model at the moment, but they say that they’re working on a microUSB version too. And then they’ll need one for the smaller dock connector on the upcoming iPhone 5, if rumors are to be believed.

The ChargeCard is slim enough to fit into your wallet, along with your driver’s license and credit cards, so you’ll never leave home without it. With 27 days to go in the Kickstarter campaign, they’ve already more than doubled their original funding goal of $50,000. Pledge $20 or more to secure a ChargeCard in the color of your choice.

We’ve all encountered this problem. You want to plug in your iPhone to charge, but it’s dark and you can’t see the port. The CordLite fixes that, because it is an illuminated charger cable for your preferred iDevice. No more fumbling in your dark bedroom or in the dark confines of your car at night.

The concept is actually really simple. The CordLite replaces your OEM charging cable and it contains forward-facing LEDs at the port connector part. There are two smaller indicator lights to let you know which way is up. There are no buttons for turning the lights on and off either, as they are touch-activated. It might have been nice to have the lights on the USB end of the cable too, but I’m sure that would have significantly increased the cost and complexity.

You can back this project by hitting up the Kickstarter page. They need the money to start mass production and a pledge of $30 or more will land you one of the first units. If you pledge $45 or more, you get a special laser-etched version.

For now, they’re focusing solely on the CordLite for Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod, but they have already prototyped a microUSB version that will follow if this initial launch works out well. If everything goes according to plan, the first batch of CordLites for iDevices will ship this fall.

We deal with a lot of messy cables these days. We’ve got HDMI cables leading from our televisions, audio cables leading from our headphones, and USB cables leading to our various peripherals. While it doesn’t solve all of life’s problems, the Scosche flipSYNC II looks like it could help. In fact, Scosche took home a CES Innovation 2011 Design and Engineering Award.

It doesn’t look like much, but this follow-up to the original flipSYNC can retract up a standard iPod/iPhone charge and sync cable into a package that is much more easily handled. Pull out the connects when you need them, fold them back in when you don’t. It sounds so simple, helping you eliminate those messy tangles. Stuff like this is pretty useful when you’re on the road.

In addition to the iPod and iPhone model, the guys at Scosche tell me that they’ve also got microUSB and miniUSB versions of the flipSYNC II. No, this isn’t going to blow you away like the Motorola Atrix 4G would, but I can see how this would be useful.

Similarly, Scosche was showing off a carabiner-equipped version called the clipSYNC. Like the flipSYNC II, it does USB 2.0 for both charging and data synching.
