The tablet wars are indeed heating up with Android making up some hefty ground, but the iPad is still the reigning king. Maybe you’ve picked up one of the WiFi-only models because you’re not interested in paying for a separate data plan, but now you’re missing out on the GPS side of the equation.

Tethering now permanent on Fido and Rogers

You may be satisfied with the mobile web experience on your smartphone, but there are definitely times when you’d be happier with the Internet experience on your laptop. That’s when tethering can come into play.

Fido and Rogers extended their tethering promotion a couple months ago, allowing users to connect their phones to their computers until May 3, 2010. That has now been extended even further, because tethering is a-okay with Rogers and Fido on a permanent basis. Or at least until they change their minds.
