There are apps on just about everything these days. You naturally have apps on your smartphone and tablet, but there are also app stores for things like Smart TVs. And you may have also noticed that the features on in-car entertainment systems are starting to look pretty smart too and that’s why GM is prepared to expand that with an in-car app store.

Earlier today we mentioned Vizio was introducing its first Windows 8 tablet, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some Android-related news for us as well. Vizio has now announced a new 7-inch tablet featuring a Tegra 3 processor and pure Android experience without the bloat. Interestingly enough, one of the key features of the Windows 8 tablet was it was also a pure Windows 8 experience, with no vendor-specific junk thrown in.

Dell Originally Wanted Microsoft to Drop Windows Name from Windows RT

There has been a little confusion by some consumers about the difference between the ARM-only Windows RT and the x86-only Windows 8. This is exactly why Dell’s Vice-chairman, Jeffrey Clarke said the company originally tried to get Microsoft Steve Ballmer to rename the Windows RT OS.
