Steve Jobs writes open letter admonishing Flash

When the Apple iPad was first unveiled to the world, one of the most common questions that people had about the device was “why isn’t there Flash support?” In like manner, you’ll find a lack of Flash support on the iPhone and iPod touch devices, and Apple isn’t going to change their position any time soon.

If Apple’s actions didn’t speak loudly enough for you, Steve Jobs has issued an open letter wherein he basically says Flash is broken and wants it no where near any mobile device. The open letter is a full 1500 words in length on Apple’s history with Adobe, their shortcomings, and where they presently stand. You can read it below.

Gamelink wants to stream porn to Steve Jobs’ iPhone

Apple has all sorts of stringent restrictions for what is fair game for the App Store. Just about any app that involves female body parts are very likely to get a big red stamp of disapproval. Well, Gamelink is prepared to “go there” and offer Steve Jobs a change.

During the iPhone 4.0 OS event this month, the Apple head honcho mentioned the “porn store for Android” where you can “download nothing but porn.” He quickly quipped that this is “a place we don’t want to go – so we’re not going there.” He was later quoted as saying that “folks who want porn can buy an Android phone.”

Apple drops support for 1st Gen iPhone

When Steve Jobs began to announce the new iPhone OS 4 features last week, the excitement was palpable. Years of anticipation finally realized with the addition of multitasking as well as other tent-pole features. That was the climate of the room until the very end when Jobs casually mentioned during the Q&A that many of those shiny new features you were just made to drool over were not going to be available on the iPhone 3G (so iPhone 3GS and newer only).

At no point was our good ‘ol metal battle ax iPhone (first generation) mentioned. Steve Jobs has now confirmed what many had assumed.

iPad available Saturday, it’s magically pad-licious

Apple wants y’all to know their magical new delicious iPad will be available in the US on Saturday. If you pre-ordered you can check out your mailox Saturday, if not, Apple and Best Buy stores across the country will be stocking the units.

Steve Jobs is pretty darn excited about it. “iPad connects users with their apps and content in a far more intimate and fun way than ever before,” said Steve. “We can’t wait for users to get their hands and fingers on it this weekend.”

Universal mail inbox set for iPhone 4G?

Managing your email’s on your iPhone will are going to get easier with the promise of a universal email inbox on the next Apple iPhone. Current iPhones separate emails into separate boxes based on different email addresses, soon they will be neatly converged into one neat box, according to an email received from blogger Julio Manuel. Julio fired off an email to Steve Jobs complimenting their customer service and asking if there would be a universal email inbox on future iPhones, Jobs simply replied “Yep” from his iPad (big surprise in the device he used to respond).

Apple iPad commercial unveiled at Oscar show

Apple decided to woah Oscar viewers with the first ever Apple iPad commercial last night. It was an unexpected surprise, some thought it would be played at the Superbowl, but that doesn’t seem to be Apple’s primary target audience.
