<p>When you&#8217;re going for a run or even when you&#8217;re riding the bus, it&#8217;s better when you don&#8217;t have to get tangled up in messy cables. Cut the cord and go with a stereo <a href="/tag/Bluetooth/">Bluetooth</a> headset like the Motorola MOTOROKR S305, which happens to be on sale for $62 off the regular price.</p>
<p>The main appeal here is to listen to your music without having to deal with some corded headphones, but it&#8217;s important to note that the Motorola S305 functions just as a well as a Bluetooth headset. This means that when you pair it up with your mobile phone, you can take a voice call and chat away with the built-in microphone. It&#8217;s switch between your tunes and the call automatically as needed.</p>
<p>All the basic music controls are also located on the ear piece, so you can play, pause, go to the next track, go back to the previous track, and adjust the volume as needed without having to whip out your phone or Bluetooth device. Of course, it works with all sorts Bluetooth enabled music players and phones, including iPhone and iPod certification. The rechargeable battery gives you up to 6.5 hours of talk time.</p>
<p>Pick up the Motorola MOTOROKR S305 Stereo Bluetooth Headset <a href="http://amzn.to/OMzu8B">on Amazon for $37.99</a>, which is $62 off the regular price of $99.99. That includes your free super saver shipping too.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img title="120710-syre2" src="http://www.mobilemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/120710-syre2-640x452.jpg" alt="" width="640" height="452" /><br />
Using your <a href="/tag/ipod-nano/">iPod nano</a> as a watch is pretty cool, but you still have to run the cable from your headphones when you want music. That&#8217;s cumbersome and ugly. Some people have attached Bluetooth adapters to the dock connector, but that totally ruins the look too. Lion Hound Technology is changing all of that with the world&#8217;s first Bluetooth-enabled iPod nano watch case.</p>
<p>The idea is actually quite simple. It&#8217;s a watch band for your iPod nano, but there is an integrated Bluetooth adapter. This is a seamless design, so you don&#8217;t get an ugly adapter jutting out from the bottom. The band and case are molded from a flexible silicone polymer, featuring ample venting to provide airflow to your wrist. Simply pair up the Bluetooth headphones of your choice and you can have a cable-free music experience when you go for your run or hit up the gym. Leave the wired headphones at home.</p>
<p>With 25 days to go, the <a href="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/syre/meet-syre-the-worlds-first-bluetooth-ipod-nano-wat">Kickstarter project</a> has already reached its funding goal. You can expect to see the SYRE ship in six different colors when it becomes available in 4 to 6 months. Pledge at least $50 to secure one of the first units. Full retail will be $79.95.</p>

<p>To this day, my favorite Bluetooth headset is still the Aliph Jawbone. It&#8217;s comfortable, stylish, and works very well. Now Jawbone is looking to capitalize on that success by spreading their wings into speakers. Here is the Jambox, the first speaker from the Jawbone people.</p>
<p>It looks almost like a giant carpeted piece of Lego, but the bright red portable speaker actually connects to any compatible stereo Bluetooth device for some mobile music sharing. The built-in rechargeable battery is said to last up to ten hours at a time.</p>
<p>The speaker box contains a pair of proprietary acoustic drivers. Each is designed to capture both high (tweeter-esque) sounds and low (woofer-like) frequencies. It has a frequency range of 60Hz &#8211; 20kHz and a max output of 85db. Oh, and it&#8217;ll do 3.5mm input too, in case you want to skip the Bluetooth business.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t really see how this is all that different than the countless other Bluetooth speakers out there, but you could almost say the same about the Jawbone headset. Maybe this just does the same job, only better. In any case, it&#8217;ll sell for $200 and if you don&#8217;t dig the red, it also comes in black, blue, and gray.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.mobilemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/jambox-blue.jpg"><img src="http://www.mobilemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/jambox-blue.jpg" alt="" title="jambox-blue" width="700" height="389" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-104447" /></a></p>

<p>Whether you&#8217;re hitting up the gym or going outside for a run, you probably want to have some tunes on hand. At the same time, you don&#8217;t want to deal with wires and cables. The Motorola S10-HD lets you handle both in style with a sporty wraparound design.</p>
<p>In terms of functionality, this Bluetooth headset is pretty much standard. You pair it up with your chosen stereo Bluetooth device and it&#8217;ll pump those tunes into your eardrums without wires. The wrap-around-the-neck design helps to keep it in place while your head bobs up and down during the cardiovascular activity of choice. What sets the S10-HD apart, though, is that it is &#8220;designed to withstand all sorts of sweat beads.&#8221; Go ahead and drench it in your sweat. They say it won&#8217;t skip a beat. Recessed speakers, hydrophobic acoustic mesh, and silicon seals were used in the making to protect the electronic components from the salty wet stuff. And yes, it&#8217;ll take phone calls too.</p>
<p>Look for these to drop at your local Best Buy on October 24 for $79.99.</p>

<div id="slickbox"> <strong>Motorola Introduces S10-HD: Bluetooth Headphones that Keep Your Music Moving<br />
</strong><br />
The smarter way to take your music with you, wherever life may take you</p>
<p>LIBERTYVILLE, ILL. – September 27, 2010 – Motorola, Inc., the world leader in Bluetooth® headsets, today announced S10-HD, the only Bluetooth® stereo headphones designed to keep your music moving with you. S10-HD provides rich, high-definition sound quality in a comfortable, sweat proof design. S10-HD will be available starting October 24 through Best Buy.</p>
<p>&#8220;Motorola created S10-HD to accommodate an active lifestyle – from working out to hanging out, it fits into anyone&#8217;s routine,&#8221; said Wayne White, corporate vice president, Companion Products, Motorola Mobility. &#8220;S10-HD not only provides superior high definition sound quality but the advanced design ensures the headset is dust and sweat proof.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Don&#8217;t Sweat It</strong><br />
Put S10-HD to the test, the lightweight, sweat proof and water resistant design can keep up with you, from a rigorous work out to running errands. S10-HD uses advanced materials and a thoughtful design ensures the electronics stay dry. The S10-HD&#8217;s speakers are recessed in their housing with a new ear cushion interface and hydrophobic acoustic mesh ensures the headset is sweat proof, while preserving audio quality. To reduce exposure to moisture, silicone seals protect electrical components, all buttons are co-molded and the micro-USB charging cover is molded to the headphones housing with a water-proof plug.<br />
<strong><br />
Music to Your Ears</strong><br />
Listen to your favorite tunes in a whole new way with S10-HD high definition audio. The advance acoustic design along with the digital tuning and enhanced bass provide amazingly rich audio. It even takes your phone calls by automatically pausing the music and resuming it when you hang up.</p>
<p><strong>Building on Perfection</strong><br />
S10-HD is an update to S9-HD, the award-winning Bluetooth stereo headphones that redefined wireless music. The back housing is redesigned to optimize antenna performance outdoors and improved buttons help make controlling music and calls a breeze.</p>
<p><strong>Availability</strong><br />
S10-HD Bluetooth® headset will be available in the U.S. beginning October 24 at Best Buy stores and online for $79.99. For more information regarding S10-HD, please click here.</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.mobilemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/iskinbt-1.jpg" alt="REVIEW - iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver" title="REVIEW - iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver" width="500" height="328" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-65788" /></p>
<p>Wouldn&#8217;t it be nice if you could use your iPod speaker dock with your Bluetooth-enabled music phone? Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) makes it so that you can stream music from up to 30 feet away, but most speaker systems do not come equipped with Bluetooth. Perhaps the simplest solution to this is the <a href="http://www.iskin.com/ceruleanrx/">iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver</a>.</p>
<p>This tiny device works with any iPod docking station, sending the tunes from your stereo Bluetooth phone (that includes the iPhone 3GS and 3G with iPhone OS 3.0) to the speaker system wirelessly and easily. Is it really as easy as iSkin claims? How&#8217;s the sound quality? Let&#8217;s find out.</p>
<p><strong>Features and Box Contents</strong></p>
<p>While it is clearly targeting the iPhone segment of the marketplace, the Cerulean RX will also work with other Bluetooth devices. This includes smartphones and even your computer if it happens to be equipped with stereo Bluetooth. The Cerulean RX does not require any batteries, since it gets all of its power from the iPod dock connection.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.mobilemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/iskinbt-2.jpg" alt="REVIEW - iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver" title="REVIEW - iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver" width="500" height="356" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-65789" /></p>
<p>Inside the slick black box, you get the Cerulean RX itself (in the middle), instructional material, 3.5mm stereo cable, RCA adapter, and USB cable. The three supplemental cables are there for alternative applications of the Cerulean RX and I&#8217;ll get to these in a moment.</p>
<p>In case you&#8217;re wondering, &#8220;cerulean&#8221; is a shade of blue, not unlike an azure sky. See what they did there? Cerulean? Blue? Bluetooth? </p>
<p><strong>Docking with an iPod Speaker System</strong></p>
<p>Is the Cerulean RX really that easy to use? If you are familiar with other stereo Bluetooth devices, then yes, this is about as easy as it gets.</p>
<p>In the base of the Cerulean receiver, which is about 1/3 of the size of a third-gen iPod nano, is the same kind of dock connector that you&#8217;d find on any contemporary iPod or iPhone. This allows it to slot into any iPod speaker system or docking station. It also draws its power from this connection, so you don&#8217;t have to deal with any batteries.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.mobilemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/iskinbt-3.jpg" alt="REVIEW - iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver" title="REVIEW - iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver" width="500" height="321" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-65790" /></p>
<p>Upon plugging it in and turning on your iPod speaker system, the single white LED on the front of the Cerulean RX will start to blink. This indicates that it is searching for a Bluetooth source. For the purposes of this review, I used my <a href="http://www.mobilemag.com/2009/04/30/review-unlocked-nokia-e71-2-nam-smartphone/">Nokia E71 smartphone</a> and went through the usual Bluetooth pairing process without a hitch.</p>
<p>After everything was paired up, I had no trouble using the Nokia&#8217;s music player to send my tunes through the iSkin Cerulean RX to my iPod speaker system. Simple, easy, and straightforward.</p>
<p><strong>Range, Signal Fidelity, and Sound Quality</strong></p>
<p>I was quite impressed with the range and signal fidelity of the Cerulean RX. It was able to outperform the <a href="http://www.mobilemag.com/2009/07/14/review-yubz-magnum-stereo-bluetooth-speaker/">Yubz Magnum Stereo Bluetooth Speaker</a> in this respect, continuing to play music even though I had my smartphone in the other room. This was through about three interior walls.</p>
<p>Sound quality was also very good, but this will vary considerably based on your iPod speaker system. Naturally, poorer quality speakers will pump out lower quality sound. A <a href=" <a href="http://www.mobilemag.com/2009/01/26/review-mstation-21-stereo-orb-for-ipod/">&#8220;>better iPod stereo</a> will provide better sound.</p>
<p><strong>Beyond the iPod Dock</strong></p>
<p><img src="http://www.mobilemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/iskinbt-4.jpg" alt="REVIEW - iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver" title="REVIEW - iSkin Cerulean RX Stereo Bluetooth Receiver" width="500" height="294" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-65791" /></p>
<p>If you use the 3.5mm stereo cable (and possibly in tandem with the RCA adapter cable), you can connect the Cerulean RX to just about any other device. The USB cable is required to provide power, so you may want a USB wall adapter too.</p>
<p>Using this kind of configuration, the Bluetooth pairing process is the same, but it means that you can stream audio to your home stereo, television, or any other source that&#8217;ll take either a 3.5mm stereo connection or the pair of RCA plugs (red and white).</p>
<p><strong>Conclusion</strong></p>

<p>While you could certainly invest in an iPod speaker system that also comes with a stereo Bluetooth connection, the iSkin Cerulean RX provides an easy and straightforward solution for anyone who wants to do the Bluetooth A2DP thing with <em>any</em> iPod docking station. Using the provided cables, you can also use it with just about any other audio device too.</p>
<p>Shown here docked into the <a href="http://www.mobilemag.com/2009/07/21/review-speakal-ipig-ipod-speaker-dock/">Speakal iPig</a>, the iSkin Cerulean RX offers an easy way to use stereo Bluetooth without hurting the signal or sound quality. You can even use it with a non-Bluetooth iPod if you get the optional Cerulean TX Stereo Bluetooth Transmitter too. </p>
<p>The iSkin Cerulean RX Wireless Bluetooth Receiver retails for $89.99 and it gets <strong>an overall score of 8.5/10</strong>. It would have received a higher score if it was less expensive.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We&#8217;re slowly moving toward a completely wireless digital lifestyle. I don&#8217;t have a landline telephone anymore, because my cell phone suits me just fine. We&#8217;re seeing those wireless charging systems for our portable devices too. Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) isn&#8217;t new, but it&#8217;s certainly better than it has been in the past.</p>
<p>Especially now that the guys in Cupertino are down with the A2DP on the Apple iPhone, I imagine that the market for stereo Bluetooth devices will grow considerably. One of the products capitalizing on this is the BackBeat 903 wireless headphones from Altec Lansing.</p>
<p>John Biggs of CrunchGear had the opportunity to take these out for a spin and he was very impressed with their incredible lightweight nature. In his own words, these &#8220;weigh almost nothing&#8221; at just one ounce of total weight. You can almost forget that they are there.</p>
<p>The are &#8220;delightfully small&#8221; and offer great noise prevention, adjustable earpieces, and full controls on the side of your head. The sound quality is &#8220;on par with better earbuds.&#8221; The Altec Lansing name certainly doesn&#8217;t hurt either.</p>
<p>The Altec Lansing BackBeat 903 headphones retail for $99.95, whereas the BackBeat 906 (which comes with a Bluetooth adapter) is $129.95.</p>
