So, there you are, riding your bike down a beautiful mountain trail, surrounded by nothing but the sounds of birds singing and a brook babbling in the background. It’s really missing some Black Sabbath or Disturbed, wouldn’t you say?

While you could use a set of headphones for some personal aural entertainment, why not share you wonderful music library with the world by using the Scosche boomBOTTLE rugged portable Bluetooth speaker instead? As its name implies, the speaker is effectively shaped like a water bottle and it is designed to fit perfectly in the water bottle cage on your bike. I’m not really sure where you would put your water then–maybe you’d need a camelback or something–but there you have it.

Of course, the rugged speaker doesn’t have to go in the bottle cage on your bike. It can be more versatile than that, taking your tunes wherever life’s adventures may take you. They say it’s well suited for camping, hiking, and otherwise enjoying outdoor activities. There’s a non-slip surface and, even if you drop it, there’s a shock-absorbing exterior, as well as a weatherproof design to handle whatever nature throws at you.

As far as tech specs, you can expect 10 hours of continuous playback on a single charge via its pair of 3W speaker drivers, passive subwoofer, and pair of omnidirecitonal diffusers. There’s also a mic in there for Bluetooth handsfree calls. The grey Scosche boomBOTTLE is shipping now for $149.95 with blue, pink, yellow and green versions slated for next month.

It is not surprising to see accessories pop up that use the NFC standard over other wireless connection types like Bluetooth. The new Boombero NFC Audio Speaker is one of these accessories.

The post Boombero Near Field Speakers have a Retro Styling, Cost Just $72.29 appeared first on Mobile Magazine.

Looking to break free of all the hassle that comes with wires? That’s where the Boombero NF Audio speaker comes in, helping you cut the cord between your phone and the speaker dock.

At first glance, this certainly looks quite retro but inside is a great audio experience. So what is NAC? Basically it takes the electrical signals from the phone’s speaker and relays to the dock’s speaker and amplifies them. The Boombero NF Audio Speaker will come in black or white and starts will set you back $72.29. Besides the speaker, you’ll also need three AA batteries in order to power the device for up to 20 hours of continuous playback. For those that want to save your precious batteries, this will also allow power through USB. This is fully compatible with just about any phone out there, including the iPhone, Windows Phone, Blackberry and Android devices.

What do you think, anyone interested in this NF-based speaker system or not?

These days you can pretty much toss a rock in Best Buy and hit an iPod, iPhone, or other related music accessories. This is certainly not the first dock we’ve ever encountered, so in an endless sea of accessories, can the Yamaha PDX-11 offer something just different enough to make it worth the purchase? It turns out that the answer is a maybe. This interesting dock isn’t about a simple little device you keep tucked in your room. The times when those of us who were children of the 80s walked around with boom boxs in tow are long gone. This may be for them, while at the same time it is designed with fun colors and a feel that gives it sort of a hip-hop look.

The PDX-11 is a rugged octagon-shaped loudspeaker, featuring a steel grill and a single 4-inch cone woofer and separate tweeter. According to Yamaha, the sound creates a “strong bass and stunning mid-range”, though once again there are many similar options out there for those looking. Beyond being just a dock the unit be hooked up to a PC, Mac, and other audio devices through its 3.5 mm mini jack. It also offers extra portability through its chrome bar handle.

This could be a great option for those of us looking for portable unit that can be powered through six AA batteries, for up to 8 hours of playback, or is comfortable at home using an AC adapter. For those of us that aren’t trying to recreate boom-box moments from Sixteen Candles, there are plenty of other great accessories out there that work fine from home. If portable is your thing and you want to be a little different, though, then Yamaha’s new accessory might be right up your alley.

BYOB has a whole new meaning with this pint sized product. The MU SPACE concept pillow, when closed is an attractive music box, but when you open it, your very own relaxation chamber unfolds. Not really a chamber, it’s just a mat but you’ll be so relaxed you will imagine it’s a chamber.

The speakers on the side rotate inward so those soothing sounds are directed right at you. And whether you are soothed by ocean waves or Metallica, it doesn’t matter because the MU SPACE can read your tracks from USB devices and memory cards. Just think of it, no more backbreaking nights spent on an airport floor, just Bring Your Own Beats – in a pillow.

I love blasting my iTunes anywhere I can, but the built in speakers on my MBP can only go so loud. Hopefully the new TuneBug will allow me to add a bit of “boom and shake” to my mobile funk delivery system. TuneBug has a pair of devices that use SurfaceSound technology, I’ve actually been waiting quite some time for this technology to surface. Tunebug’s patented SurfaceSound technology lets sound waves pass through the surfaces it rests on turning many surfaces into a flat panel speaker.

The Vibe does just that at shy $69.99, but the Shake, well, that’s a whole new set of apples, or melons? The Tunebug Shake ($119.99) also connects to iPods, MP3 players or mobile phones like the Vibe, but this one uses Bluetooth and when mounted on a bike, skate or snowboard helmet, the Shake creates a surround sound experience. “Music 4 UR Melon” they say. Next on the list, the Quake, I can only imagine.
