Instragram has quickly become the most popular image sharing system on the web, and with good reason, it’s easy to use and just works well in general. Building on this idea a bit further comes a concept design of a camera built around the Instragram program. The concept shown off certainly has a retro-feel to it and essentially is built around the Instragram app– with a few extras like the idea of having a built-in printer system.

There have been rumors, mostly sparked by analyst comments, that Instragram could find its way into camera, and this mock-up does a pretty good job at letting us imagine what something like this would work like.

This concept camera is called the Instragram Socialmatic, and according to its designers would theoretically have the folioing specs:

16 GB mass storage

WIFI and Bluetooth

4:3 touchscreen

Optical Zoom

LED Flash

Internal Printer

Dedicated 4-colors ink tanks

Paper cartridge with Instagram Paper Sheets

InstaOS 1.0

Ability to pair with iOS and Android app

Interesting idea, though it doesn’t say anything about the mega-pixels of this concept idea, and I have to wonder– is 16GB really all that needed for a camera? Maybe I’m old fashioned, but that just seems like a lot. My digital camera has a 4GB card and never gets even close to full, though that’s in part because I archive them to my PC and then delete them off the drive.

Could something like this actually come to fruition? Sure, but will it? That’s anyone’s guess. What do you think, would you buy something like this, personally?
