The “Samsung Premiere 2013″ event is scheduled to take place in London on June 20 and we’re expecting to see at least a few new additions to the GALAXY and ATIV lines from the company. The invite doesn’t say much, but it does showcase the GALAXY and ATIV branding, as well as what appears to be the edge on a tablet or notebook-like device.

Starting with the Galaxy side of things, it is likely that Samsung will show off a few variants to its recent Galaxy S4 smartphone. The S4 mini has been rumored for some time and Samsung could go in the other direction with the S4 Mega as well. We’ve also see leaks on a Galaxy S4 Active with physical menu and back buttons, plus a more ruggedized back. It’s also possible that the event will see a new Galaxy Tab 3 in the 10.1-inch variety.

Switching gears to the ATIV side, Samsung hasn’t had as much success with its Windows-based smartphones and tablets compared to its Android offerings. That being said, given the company’s history, it’s very likely that we’ll find a new ATIV device styled after the Galaxy S4, except the smartphone will be powered by Windows Phone 8. Since the ATIV line also includes all-in-ones and laptops, we could see something there as well.

The Samsung Premiere 2013 event will be livestreamed from the Samsung Mobile YouTube channel on June 20th starting at 1pm ET.

It has been about seven months now since the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3. We continue to hear that the phone is doing quite well, but how well exactly?

Samsung has now confirmed that they have sold over 40 millions units of the popular S3 Android flagship phone.

Still don’t think Samsung Galaxy S3 is a hot-selling device compared to many other smartphones, including many of Samsung’s other devices? Let’s compare Galaxy S3 sales to the Galaxy S2. The S2 was and still is a rather popular device, but in the little over a year and a half its been on the market, it has ALSO sold 40 million. That means that in much less time, the S3 has managed to cover just as much ground as the older S2.

Outside of announcing the S3 and S2 both hitting the 40 million mark, Samsung also confirmed they have sold a total of 100 million units between their entire Galaxy S line. Not bad, not bad at all.

Do you own a Samsung Galaxy S device, what do you think of it compared to other Android devices on the market– or even compared to Apple’s iPhone 5?

While the Samsung Galaxy S3 hasn’t been on the market that terribly long, that doesn’t stop the world from thinking about what’s just around the corner. Just a few months after the Galaxy S3 was released and became popular, rumors began to surface about the next-generation Galaxy S. In Samsung’s words, “the next big thing is already <del>here</del> coming”.

Rumors currently give the Galaxy S4 an April 2013 release date and an introduction sometime before then at CES and/or Mobile World Congress. Some agree that this seems strange for Samsung though, as generally they like to conduct their own special events for massive announcements like that of a new flagship phone.

As far as hardware is concerned, the Galaxy S4 is rumored to have a quad-core processor that is more powerful than the S3′s, a 13 MP camera, and a full HD 441 ppi display.

Samsung is looking to get themselves back on top in terms of displays after HTC and Sharp stole the spotlight with full HD displays. Furthermore, UBS’s Nicolas Gaudois claims that ”preparations for volume manufacturing of unbreakable plastic substrate displays continue. All in all, we could see a strong products push in the high-end in the first half, followed by other releases.”

It has also been said that Samsung is working hard on flexible displays. A combination of flexible and unbreakable displays would create a completely new generation of smartphones and tablets.

Are you looking forward to having an unbreakable/flexible display? Which one would you want to have on your phone more? Let us know in the comments below.

Not too long ago we talked about the new Samsung Galaxy SIII and how it supposedly had leaked into the hands of a Vietnamese site. The folks at Samsung didn’t have much more to say about the whole thing, other than telling us that they’d show us more in May at their Unplugged Conference. Apparently they didn’t want to wait that long after all, as they’ve now announced their new “Exynos 4 Quad” processor, which will power the new Galaxy device.

The processor will run at 1.4GHz per core, is based on the ARM Cortex A9, and has 32nm High-k Metal Gate technology, power management, and per-core dynamic voltage and frequency scaling. Pin-to-pin, it will be compatible with the Exynos 4 Dual, making it easier for manufacturers to make the switch to the dual-core model in upcoming phones. The new processor will also be capable of 30fps 1080p video playback/recording, HDMI 1.4, and will offer double the power of its 45nm predecessor while consuming less energy.

While this doesn’t tell us everything about the new Samsung Galaxy, it does put in place a pretty big piece of the puzzle. Now we just have to wait until the official reveal in May.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 was actually first announced back in September and will feature a 1280×800 Super AMOLED plus display, a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, a 2MP front camera, 3.2MP back camera, and the rear can even shoot 720p video.

The bad news? The tablet isn’t getting ICS, at least not right away, instead shipping with Honeycomb. Even worse news? It costs $499 even with a contract discount. This means that the new Tab is competing more with devices like the iPad than lower-end tablets like the Kindle Fire. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 hits store shelves on the 1st of March.
