There’s a reason why the Samsung Galaxy S3 is widely touted as being one of the best Android smartphones on the market today and now it seems that you can land yourself a stellar deal on the phone too. It’s on sale for just a penny.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is being offered in white or black with 16GB of internal storage, coming with all those wonderful specs and features that make this phone so popular. There’s the 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, dual core 1.5GHz processor, 8MP camera, and full 1080p HD video recording. It ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but a Jelly Bean update is surely on the way.

You can pick it up for $0.01 on a qualifying two-year service agreement with Sprint via Amazon Wireless. That’s pretty cheap, considering that it sells for $700 outright. If you want something even larger and more powerful, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is on sale too, also through Sprint and Amazon Wireless. That’s being listed at $169.99 on a qualifying two-year contract.

Did you score yourself a new Samsung Galaxy S III during the holidays? Maybe you already have one and now you need a better way to protect it. Fear not, smartphone enthusiasts, because there are lots of great Samsung Galaxy S3 cases that have now been significantly discounted.

The Otterbox Commuter Case probably boasts some of the best protection in the industry with its impact-absorbing silicone and hi-impact polycarbonate shell. Pick it up for $20, down from $34.95 regularly.

For a little added functionality, there is the Aduro Shell Holster Combo Case for $12.99, which is $17 off the list price. It’s a tough case that happens to have an integrated kickstand, making it easier to watch videos and enjoy other content.

Something even more rugged is the Otterbox Defender Series. It’s on sale for 56% off, now available for $21.99. There’s a clear protective membrane to go along with polycarbonate and a durable silicone. The belt holster doubles as a viewing stand too.

The adventurous might choose this $9.95 hot pink leather wallet case that houses your Samsung Galaxy S III, as well as your credit cards in a completely covered case. You can also get it in black for $7.26 ($12.73 off).

Maintaining the thin appeal of the S3 is the elago G5 Slim Fit Case with a soft finish. Normally listing for $20.99, it’s now on sale for $9.99. The hard shell case, made in Korea, is ultra slim and lightweight.

Want to confuse your friends? The Nintendo Game Boy Case for the Galaxy S3 is durable and surely dials up the geek factor, looking like that old school Game Boy with the spinach green screen. Best of all, the soft silicon skin case is just $1.75.

Last but not least, you certainly shouldn’t forget about the front of the phone too. Keep things scratch-free with the generic screen protector for the Galaxy S III. A three-pack has a regular list price of $15.25, but somehow it’s now selling for a mere 83 cents.

The Galaxy S 3 is expected to be Samsung’s answer to the Apple iPhone 4S and most likely will also compete against the rumored iPhone 5. We have already seen a lot of rumors regarding the release date of the much anticipated Android device, and today we have got yet another hint, which suggests that the device might indeed be unveiled next month as previously rumored.

As you may remember, we reported earlier about a leak which hinted a May 22nd London launch for the S 3. Today’s info is suggesting the same. The invitation to a launch event you see above, which shows the half of a new device, was circulated by a Korean website and the words on it are more than enough to get all Android fans excited.

We are not sure whether this is the real deal, but looking at the image, we can see that the render is not exaggerated like some previous renders. Not too much about the handset is shown, possibly to let everyone imagine about what the handset will look like and get excited, if the render is real that is.

This is what Eldar Murtazin has to say on the matter (via Twitter): “My comment about this sgs3 pic….hmmm no comments :-) what do u think? Real or fake?”.

That combination of “no comments” with a smiley face might be his way of confirming things.

There are no hints about the specs of the handset, but we do know that it will have a quad-core processor. Previous rumors have suggested that the S3 will come with ICS, a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display, 2GB of RAM, and a 2250mAh battery.

The Apple iPhone 5 is certainly a much anticipated device, and so is the Samsung Galaxy S 3. We have already heard a lot of rumors regarding the upcoming Android handset and what you see above is thought to have come from a public relations PowerPoint file. Is that really the S3 we have been waiting for all this time? We believe it is most probably not.

The new leak suggests that Samsung is planning a Samsung Unpacked event in London on May 22nd at which the Galaxy S 3 will be introduced. There is nothing unbelievable about that since the “unpacked” events have become a tradition and also a European launch is probable as they went with that for the S2. London is a good place to introduce the handset as the Summer Olympic Games is going to happen there. But all the other details available suggest that we might be looking at the work of a good artist who loves working on fake images. As you can see above, Weber Shandwick, which is a PR agency, has their logo on the powerpoint. We’re not sure if PR companies usually do that. The other tip off, that dedicated home button is all too apple-esque.

The S3 appears to be extremely thin, measuring in at 7.89mm (possible, but still sounds fake). And it isn’t very unlikely that Samsung would design a white device with a black ring around it. The S 3 will probably come without a Home Button, similar to the Galaxy Nexus, which is a design that we also are expecting from Samsung. So the conclusion is that the new leak has come out with a lot of inconsistencies, so it is most probably a big giant fake.

But that date really sounds sweet. As for the specs, rumors so far are suggesting a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, a 4.8 inch “full HD” 1080p resolution display, 4G LTE support, Android ICS, and an 8-megapixel rear cam.

Stay tuned for updates.

While many of us might have been expecting to see the Samsung Galaxy S III as early as this February at MWC, it seems that rumors suggest it might not be a dream come true. According to anonymous sources who spoke first to Verge, the SGS III will still be out before the summer, but not as quickly as some might have thought.

Last year, the Galaxy S II debuted at the MWC but didn’t come to the US until quite a while after. It might make sense to wait a little while longer, I suppose.

The Galaxy S II, and even the original Galaxy S, is still selling well even today, so maybe it isn’t quite the right time for Galaxy S III to show its face, after all.

A look at the numbers regarding the S II:

In less than a month, Samsung sold 1 million Galaxy S IIs in its home country of South Korea

Samsung sold 3 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S II in its first 55 days on the market

After 85 days on the market, units sold jumped to the 5 million mark

By September, the company shipped over 10 million units

At this point, 1 in every 10 Koreans are carrying a Galaxy S II

The Galaxy S III will no doubt do very well, but Samsung doesn’t necessarily need to rush things. Maybe it is better to wait until the S I and S II sales slow down a little?
