A leaked Staples document has revealed the release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

The post Samsung Galaxy S4 US Release Date Update appeared first on Mobile Magazine.

The long awaited Galaxy S4 was introduced a month ago by Samsung, but people are still playing the waiting game as there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding the release date of the device on any carrier. The good news is that we won’t have to wait too long, at least if we are to believe the leaked document from Staples that you see above.

The leak suggests that the S4 will be available from AT&T on April 26, T-Mobile on May 1, and Verizon on May 30. Of course those launch dates are “tentative”. There is no mention about the S4 model on the Now Network and no pricing details for the handsets sold at Staples. As for T-Mobile? The ‘uncarrier‘ earlier confirmed that they will make the Galaxy S4 available on May 1st.

AT&T recently announced pre-order starting date of April 16 for the S4, and they will be offering both the 32GB and the 16GB models for $249.99 and $199.99 respectively, with a two-year contract. T-Mobile is expected to offer the device for $99.99 down with 24 monthly payments of $20.

Meanwhile, another leak says that Walmart will start taking pre-orders for S4 on April 16th. No hints on which carriers are involved, but Walmart currently offers the S3 on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

In short, the wait for the next big thing is almost over. Are you anxiously awaiting the Galaxy S4? If not, what handset holds your fancy instead?

The hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S3 will be launched officially on the 3rd of May, but nobody knows what the device looks like or what it has under the hood, although we do know that it will be a quad core phone. Some people have managed to get their hands on an unannounced Android phones before, sometimes they are kind enough to show it to us. What you see in the photos comes to us courtesy of the folks at Gizmodo Brazil who claim the handset could possibly be the S3.

From the looks of things, Samsung has decided just an incremental update and not a major overhaul. The device is said to be thinner, but heavier, and it is coming equipped with a 12 megapixel camera, which is good news for the shutterbugs.

According to Gizmodo Brazil, the device’s serial number is Samsung GT-I9300, which suggests that the device could be the recently leaked Galaxy M, a mid-range handset. But their source believes that it is the high-end S3 “because of the speed and screen”.

We surely won’t have to wait too long to know about what the device looks like and what it packs. But make sure that you stay tuned to this space for updates.

We were hoping that Samsung would officially take the wraps off the hotly anticipated Galaxy S3 smartphone at MWC, but that didn’t happen. Now, it looks like Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 in London will be the chosen venue for the unveiling.

This event is scheduled to take place on May 3 and the invitations have been sent out to various press and other industry folks. The biggest clue is that the invite tells potential attendees that they’ll be able to “come and meet the next Galaxy.” This presumably refers to the Galaxy S III (or S3, if you prefer), but it’s necessarily a confirmation. Maybe Samsung is expanding the Galaxy line into other areas, but I’d say the new smartphone is most likely.

Even if you’re not invited and you’re not going to be in London during that time, you can watch the announcement from the comfort of your own computer. Samsung is setting up a livestream on its Facebook page at facebook.com/samsungmobile.

The Apple iPhone 5 is certainly a much anticipated device, and so is the Samsung Galaxy S 3. We have already heard a lot of rumors regarding the upcoming Android handset and what you see above is thought to have come from a public relations PowerPoint file. Is that really the S3 we have been waiting for all this time? We believe it is most probably not.

The new leak suggests that Samsung is planning a Samsung Unpacked event in London on May 22nd at which the Galaxy S 3 will be introduced. There is nothing unbelievable about that since the “unpacked” events have become a tradition and also a European launch is probable as they went with that for the S2. London is a good place to introduce the handset as the Summer Olympic Games is going to happen there. But all the other details available suggest that we might be looking at the work of a good artist who loves working on fake images. As you can see above, Weber Shandwick, which is a PR agency, has their logo on the powerpoint. We’re not sure if PR companies usually do that. The other tip off, that dedicated home button is all too apple-esque.

The S3 appears to be extremely thin, measuring in at 7.89mm (possible, but still sounds fake). And it isn’t very unlikely that Samsung would design a white device with a black ring around it. The S 3 will probably come without a Home Button, similar to the Galaxy Nexus, which is a design that we also are expecting from Samsung. So the conclusion is that the new leak has come out with a lot of inconsistencies, so it is most probably a big giant fake.

But that date really sounds sweet. As for the specs, rumors so far are suggesting a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, a 4.8 inch “full HD” 1080p resolution display, 4G LTE support, Android ICS, and an 8-megapixel rear cam.

Stay tuned for updates.

Samsung unveiled some new devices at the MWC 2012, but it is certainly a disappointment that the much anticipated Galaxy S3 did not make it for the event. We are hoping that Samsung would make up for this by bringing out a handset that is worth the wait. And it appears like that is what they are planning to do. The latest info suggests that the company is thinking about something big.

According to these rumors, which come to us courtesy of BGR, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S3 will be released in over 50 “markets or cities” simultaneously and will boast a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor (will be a small surprise if they do not go for a third-party model). That is a much needed addition if the company wants to do well on the market against the newly unveiled monster device from HTC.

The S3 will apparently feature a whopping 4.8 inch “full HD” 1080p resolution display with 16:9 aspect ratio. That means movies will be amazing on the new screen. The S3 will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will be 4G LTE capable too.

The 8-megapixel rear camera (we wonder what Eldar Murtazin was playing with earlier) will stay the same. There is also a 2-megapixel front-shooter aimed at high resolution video calls. If that back cam doesn’t impress you, check out this one.

And the device’s entire back will be made out of ceramic, which is a pretty interesting choice if these rumors become true.

But, as always, we recommend you taking this with a grain of salt. But there is nothing unbelievable about these rumors, we are digging for more info on the upcoming handset, so stay tuned for updates.

The good news is that Nokia is still the number one smartphone company in the world. The bad news is that it is steadily losing market share. Hoping to reverse that trend, Nokia announced three new Symbian^3 smartphones today: the Nokia E7, Nokia C6-01, and Nokia C7.

Nokia E7 Symbian S^3 Smartphone

Let’s start with the most exciting of the three. The Nokia E7 features a 4-inch touchscreen display with “ClearBlack technology” for improved outdoor visibility, as well as a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support. For the business-minded, the E7 also comes with an 8MP camera, 16GB internal memory, HDMI-out, Dolby Digital Plus, 720p video recording, and a mere 13.6mm profile. It’s set to launch for 495 Euro during Q4 2010.

Nokia C7 Symbian S^3 Smartphone

Moving further down the scale, we find the Nokia C6 (currently listed as the C6-01) and the Nokia C7. Both come with Symbian^3 and touchscreens, but no hardware keyboards. The C7 has a 3.5-inch AMOLED screen, 8MP camera, 8GB memory, 720p video, and a 325 Euro price point. Look for it before the end of the year.

The cheapest of the bunch at 260 Euro before taxes, the Nokia C6-01 rocks a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 8MP camera, ClearBlack technology, microSD slot, and up to 17 days of standby. It’s set to ship before the end of the year too.

Nokia N8 smartphone with Symbian S^3 platform

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the Nokia N8 is an iPhone killer or anything of that sort, but it is one of the more attractive smartphones to come out of the Finnish firm in some time. And you can start putting in your preorders for it now.

As a quick refresher, the Nokia N8 comes powered by Symbian ^3 and an ARM 11 680MHz processor. The spec sheet is certainly drool-worthy with the 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16GB internal storage, 12MP camera with 720p HD video, secondary VGA videocall camera, microSD expansion slot, HSDPA 10.2Mbps, HSUPA 2.0Mbps, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, stereo FM radio with RDS, HDMI-out, Dolby Digital Plus, digital compass, video/photo editor, and Flash Lite 4.0.

As an added bonus, you get free turn-by-turn navigation using Ovi Maps, the same free service you can get with something like the Nokia N97 mini.

Delivery of the device won’t happen until the end of September, but you can hit up the official page on the Nokia website to place your preorder. It will set you back $549, with either standard ($3.99) or express ($9.99) shipping options.

What do you think? The Nokia N8 beats a lot of devices on paper, but is it good enough to stand up in a marketplace populated by high-end Droids and retina displays?

Symbian’s recent mobile operating system dubbed S^3, will go down in history as the companies first entirely open source release to engage more people in creating an application environment free of restrictions.

S^3′s UI is quite up to date, with the latest pinch-to-zoom features, swiping, scrolling, flicking and picking, you can perform all the fliptastic finger tricks you would expect to on a multi-touch Apple or Android device. Customization seems to be a big focus, users can select multiple layouts for their Home Screen, widgets galore, and a media player app the looks a whole lot like Apple’s Cover Flow. Nokia put together a bit of a design preview for the Nokia N87 with the S^3 OS, the video shows clearly how well the kinetic scrolling and other controls perform.

From the press releases, some of the major advances S^3 will include:

HDMI support enables users to plug their phone into a TV and watch a high-definition movie at 1080p quality without a Blu-ray player.

Music store integration embedded within the radio enables users to identify a song and learn more about it. The addition of a buy now button, which links with the user’s chosen music store, makes purchasing easy.

More efficient memory management due to Writeable Data Paging allows more applications to run in parallel for a faster, more complete and efficient multi-tasking experience, especially on mid-range hardware.

A new 2D and 3D graphics architecture takes full advantage of the hardware acceleration available to deliver a faster and more responsive user interface. Users, developers and device creators will all benefit greatly from the visual enhancements and smooth transitions that will significantly improve the look-and-feel of their applications and services. Combined with industry-standard OpenGL ES, the new architecture also provides a great platform for high performance games – all without slowing the phone down.

The industry-leading networking architecture, ready for 4G networks, provides next-generation Internet experiences on today’s devices. Consumers will benefit from the architecture’s ability to seamlessly balance each individual application’s needs regarding factors such as bandwidth, latency and jitter. This improves the consumer’s experience of network-dependent applications and Internet services like VoIP and media content streaming.

One-click connectivity for all applications greatly simplifies the process of connecting to the Internet, without interrupting the user. New global settings allow the user to configure platform-wide behaviour, for example ensuring the device automatically switches from cellular to WLAN when a free WLAN network is available.

Usability enhancements across the user interface include the adoption of a direct single tap interaction model, making it much easier to complete common tasks on a device. Multi-touch support for gestures such as pinch-to-zoom forms the basis of a gesture framework that can be extended and leveraged by the developer community.

The Homescreen takes a big step forward with support for multiple pages of widgets and a simple flick gesture to move between them. The widget manager makes discovery and download of new widgets simple and support for multiple instances of a native widget means that consumers can monitor multiple weather forecasts, news feeds, social networking accounts or multiple email accounts simultaneously through a common interface.
