Blackberry are looking to cash-in with their new low-cost Qwerty smartphone. The Blackberry Q5 was unveiled by CEO Thorsten Heins on Tuesday in Orlando.

The Q5 features a trademark Blackberry QWERY keyboard, along with a 3.1-inch touch screen, but that’s about all we know about the entry-level handset from a hardware point of view. Blackberry have announced that the Q5 will be available in black, white, red, orange and pint and will go on sale in selected markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia from July. No pricing has been announced yet.

What’s most interesting about the Q5 is that it is clearly a budget device — something that Blackberry originally intended to keep BB10 away from for a while. What do you think of the Q5? Hope it comes stateside?

A leaked Staples document has revealed the release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

The post Samsung Galaxy S4 US Release Date Update appeared first on Mobile Magazine.

The long awaited Galaxy S4 was introduced a month ago by Samsung, but people are still playing the waiting game as there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding the release date of the device on any carrier. The good news is that we won’t have to wait too long, at least if we are to believe the leaked document from Staples that you see above.

The leak suggests that the S4 will be available from AT&T on April 26, T-Mobile on May 1, and Verizon on May 30. Of course those launch dates are “tentative”. There is no mention about the S4 model on the Now Network and no pricing details for the handsets sold at Staples. As for T-Mobile? The ‘uncarrier‘ earlier confirmed that they will make the Galaxy S4 available on May 1st.

AT&T recently announced pre-order starting date of April 16 for the S4, and they will be offering both the 32GB and the 16GB models for $249.99 and $199.99 respectively, with a two-year contract. T-Mobile is expected to offer the device for $99.99 down with 24 monthly payments of $20.

Meanwhile, another leak says that Walmart will start taking pre-orders for S4 on April 16th. No hints on which carriers are involved, but Walmart currently offers the S3 on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

In short, the wait for the next big thing is almost over. Are you anxiously awaiting the Galaxy S4? If not, what handset holds your fancy instead?

Sources close to Apple suggest the iPhone 5S and iPad 5 could be revealed in only a matter of months. Are you ready for the next generation of iDevices?

The post Next iPad coming April, iPhone 5S as soon as August appeared first on Mobile Magazine.

Are you getting excited about yet another iPad and iPhone update? Then you had better mark these months in your diary. Mashable is reporting that the iPad 5 could launch as early as April, with the iPhone 5S a few months later in August.

So what can we expect? Well judging by the leaked iPad 5 covers, the new iPad will share a similar design with the current iPad mini, also expect better cameras, faster CPU and more RAM. Oh, and the iPad mini 2 is also scheduled to pop up around the same time with a retina display, larger battery and a much larger price tag.

iPhone 5S rumors are a little more interesting with talk of a low-cost version with plastic body due around July along with a ‘regular’ iPhone 5S, with sales dates guesstimated for August.

On a personal note, I really hope Apple pulls something big out of the bag for both the iPhone 5S and iPad 5 as I’m getting kind of bored with their lack of innovation and slight spec boosts year in and year out. How about you guys? Agree or disagree?

Looks like the long awaited release of the BlackBerry Z10 may be shortly coming to an end for those in the United States. BlackBerry recently tweated about the launch saying, “BlackBerry 10 will be available across the U.S. in a few short weeks”.

At this time we don’t have an exact date for the release or which carriers will be offering the phone. What we do know is that we expect a Z10 launch on T-Mobile sometime mid March, and a Verizon unveil possibly in April. Previously leaked photos of the Z10 did show it sporting the Verizon tag, so we expect it sooner than later. Stay tuned for more details as specific dates and details get released.

Who has been patiently waiting for the BlackBerry Z10 to finally drop?

Dropbox, the file and photo sharing website and application, has just released a new beta version for its Android app to the general public. This being amongst all the other tweaks and upgrades Dropbox has released lately.

This new version allows users to delete or share multiple photos at once. Also included is the ability to create photo albums and share them. This is in addition to several bug fixes introduced in this update as well.

To get this latest version you can simply download this from their forum. Once downloaded, you can check the early releases option, in settings, for future updates. Downloads not received from the Play Store will automatically have this option enabled.

To be honest I have not used Dropbox much on my smartphone, just mostly on my desktop. But as they add more and more features to their app, it is starting to become a must have.

Are you going to get the beta version to be one step ahead of your friend and colleagues?

Are you like us, and wondering what ever happened to the supposed release of AT&T’s HTC One VX?

This new phone was clearly set to be released on November 16th along with the One X. The One X was released as expected, but there has been no word on the HTC One VX. Further adding to the mystery, when stores were contacted, they had no idea what the phone even was and it also wasn’t found anywhere on AT&T’s website.

Yesterday, an AT&T spokesperson said he “expects to be fully stocked in all channels by December 7th”.

We don’t know what the hold up is or was with the release of this phone, but we are glad it has a release date, again. Hopefully they got everything all squared away and we can finally get a hold of one next week.

There are already tons of rumors about the much anticipated Apple iPad 3 launch circulating. Of course, we know from previous years experience that we can expect something new from Apple, most likely in March again. Since the Cupertino company has scheduled a big media event for the first week of March, AllThingsD says its the iPad 3.

The back panel that you see in the above image is supposed to be that of the iPad 3. And when compared to the rear housing of the iPad 2, the new device appears to be coming with some changes.

According to available info, the new housing has been designed to fit a smaller logic board. The additional space might be there for a larger battery. From the looks of things an updated camera (rumored to be similar to the one on the iPhone 4S) is also coming, and the mystery housing also features a different LCD mounting system.

If indeed this is the iPad 3 rear panel, its arrival at this time suggests that the device is very close to being unveiled. A release in March or April is most likely, especially when considering hints from casing and accessory makers who showed off their products at CES 2012.

You might know that a longer battery life is one of the iPad’s strongest points. So the rumored bigger battery will be much needed if the company fits a 2048×1536 Retina Display, a quad-core processor and 4G LTE support into the next iPad. Customers won’t welcome a device with good specs but poor battery life.

And speaking of the Retina Display, there are rumors that the iPad 3 might feature Sharp’s IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) display. Besides delivering a high resolution of up to 330 dots per inch, these displays cost less to produce and there is no need for LED backlights. The display will also be thinner.

The latest info suggests that Sharp’s factories have increased the production of the IGZO displays. And there haven’t been any reports about the displays being available commercially. So where are they headed? Apple is certainly a possibility.

But there are also rumors about a dual light bar design for supporting high-resolution IPS display from Samsung and LG.

Is your head aching after all these speculations and rumors? Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long to hear an official announcement from Apple. But then the iPad 4 talks will start.
