Of course, nobody can swim as swiftly as a fish in the sea, but if you are an Olympian swimmer such as Michael Phelps and Mark Spits, then you can probably swim a lot faster than any other human being on this planet. But unfortunately, these two great swimmers are mere mortals and can never be compared to the fish.

Despite this fact, we can still improve our swimming abilities in order to raise our human spirits. This is the reason why some companies strive hard to develop tools which can help people achieve their goals. The Finis Positive Drive Fins are specially designed fins that aim to make you swim further and faster without giving too much effort. These are also designed for correct propulsion when using different swim strokes.

The Positive Drive Fins (PDF’s) use a unique ellipsoidal blade to generate correct propulsion in all swim strokes. Traditionally fins are not made for Breaststroke, but the asymmetrical shape and adjustable heel strap allows the swimmer to safely build power in the Breaststroke kick.

The Finis Positive Drive Fins aim to promote natural inward supination kick style which allows the swimmer to flex the feet naturally and to increase foot speed, ankle flexibility and leg strength. If you want to try this product, be ready to spend around $21.99 to $27.99 depending on the size of the fins.

With the Finis Positive Drive Fins, maybe someday you can actually swim like a fish.

Yahoo is staking its claim in new-media territory with the launch of Livestand, a digital magazine stand for your tablet or super-phone.

It’s not an app, they say, but a next-generation Yahoo platform where third-party magazines and media will funnel through to a personalized splash page.

“If Life is so digital…why aren’t our publications?” asked Yahoo product czar Blake Irving during the conference call announcement. He says small publishers are having a hard time on tablets because they can’t monetize, reach their audiences, or make their apps much more than just PDFs. Lifestand will enable publishers and advertisers to seamlessly distribute content across tablets and mobile phones in an experience that is elegant and personalized to the individual.

The program will also feature Yahoo Answers and Mail integration and an in-line browser for sharing content.

Though most of the content will be Yahoo-based when the app hits iOS and Android later this year, Irving says “we see a future where two people in a garage can publish a magazine with the tools we enable.”

They’re working with a few select partners, including Surf Magazine, ahead of the launch.

Yahoo isn’t letting on too much more, but for now, check out the teaser images they have released.
