pokemon

If you really wanted to get a Nintendo-flavored hit of gaming on your Droid or iPhone, you could have already nabbed an SNES emulator and a few ROMs, but that’s hardly official. Well, that’s changing and I think some pigs may have just grown wings: Nintendo is finally developing for both Android and iOS.

Nintendo 3DS Games Not Dependent on 3D to Play

3ds_speculation

Let’s put this into perspective. Let’s say that you decide to buy one of the many Rock Band games for your Xbox 360, but you’re not at all interested in the plastic instruments. So, you figure out a way to play Rock Band using a regular Xbox 360 controller. What’s the point? By the same accord, let’s say that you can play Dance Central for Kinect by tapping the buttons on a Street Fighter arcade stick. Again, what’s the point?

3ds-ar-cards-android

When the Nintendo 3DS hits our shores this weekend, you’ll find that the retail box includes six augmented reality (AR) cards. These paper cards can be used to interact with the different AR games that are available on the system, but it sucks to have to carry them around with you. So, why not load them on your phone instead?

500x_3dscreen

What do you do when you have a product that is clearly targeting a younger audience, only to discover that it may not exactly be appropriate younger audience? That’s exactly the pickle that Nintendo has somehow found itself handling with the Nintendo 3DS. You see, the 3D-ness could have seriously detrimental effects on the eyeballs of young children.

featured_hardware1

Man, I was really hoping that Nintendo would be a little more competitive with the price point on the new Nintendo 3DS. Most of us were hoping for something in the $200 range, maybe pushing $220 or $230, but that’s not where it is at all. Instead, they’ve bumped it to a whopping $300.

Nintendo 3DS: What you see is what you get

3ds

Whenever a company reveals a product ahead of launch date, they tell you that this may not be the final design. Such is the case with the Nintendo 3DS, but it seems that the Japanese game maker is unlikely to significantly alter the design of the 3DS before its release. As you may recall, the Nintendo 3DS made its official debut to the world at E3 in Los Angeles last month. It comes with a new analog joystick, a slightly modified take on the DS design, a couple of extra cameras, and the 3D top display.

The Nintendo 3DS may not be on store shelves for long, or at all, when the company launches an app store to go along with it. Nintendo 3DS is the Nintendo DSi with a 3D display

Nintendo 3DS announced in Japan

It seems that the next generation of Nintendo handhelds are entering a whole new dimension and it could be much more innovative than that bigger-screened Nintendo DSi XL. That’s because the Nintendo 3DS will feature a 3D display and you won’t even need some goofy goggles to make use of it.

This not just a rumor. Nintendo Japan has officially announced the Nintendo 3DS. If you’re expecting Avatar-style 3D where the objects leap off the screen, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. That’s not the 3D you’ll be getting here, from what I can tell.
