Redsnow Jailbreak Now Supports iOS 5.1

First off, this isn’t for iPhone 4S, iPad 2, or the new A5X iPad. The A5 (and A5X) chip is much harder to break, and at the moment Redsn0w doesn’t support this processor class. Another potential deal-breaker for some, is that this is teethered jailbreak. In laymens terms, if you reboot your device it will need to first connect to a computer in order to re-enter into a jailbroken state.

What the $399 iPad 2 Could Mean for Android Tablets

Part of the reason why the iPad and iPad 2 continued to dominate the tablet space was that most of the “good” Android tablets cost just as much as their iCounterparts and many people viewed Apple’s tablet as a premium device. The original Eee Pad Transformer made some headway by launching at $399, digging under the cheapest iPad by a full $100, but even that was met with relatively limited success.

Say Hello to the New Apple iPad

As the invite let us know, today was the big day. Apple hosted a special event in San Francisco this morning to unveil the new iPad to the world. Interestingly enough, it is not the iPad 2S, the iPad HD, or even the iPad 3 that we had expected. It’s simply the new iPad. I guess they’ve decided to take the iPod approach to product names moving forward, rather than the iPhone style of naming models.

Apple Event on March 2 Could See Unveiling of iPad 2?

The original Apple iPad wasn’t the first tablet device on the market, but it sure did popularize the format. This is not unlike what the iPod and iPhone did for the mp3 player and smartphone. So, what will the next-generation iPad 2 bring to the table to combat the rise of the Gingerbread men – the Android tablet? We’ll find out in about a week and a half.
