So you have your new iPad, and you love it. The apps are great and it can do so much – but can it control functions in a police car? Well, apparently Windows 8 can, thanks to a new partnership between Microsoft and public safety solutions firm, Modularis. Microsoft first showed the police car running on the Modularis technology as part of Modularis' Worldwide Public Safety Symposium, where officials gather to discuss public safety and ways to improve the overall state of safety.

Windows Phone 8 Dual-Core Smartphone For Sprint Being Tested?

While HTC has plans to release their newly unveiled S4 powered One S (T-Mobile) and One X (AT&T version) within the next two months, Microsoft is reportedly busy testing a Windows Phone 8 smartphone, which is intended for Sprint’s network, with the dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset. The new info comes to us courtesy of the folks over at The Verge who were apparently tipped off by “sources familiar with the company's plans”.

Microsoft’s Transparent 3D Desktop (Video)

Microsoft's Applied Sciences team has shown off their prototype 3D desktop which allows you to interact with the objects on a transparent screen with something called “view-dependent, depth-corrected gaze”.
