Obsessively desire the need to catalog nearly every moment of your entire life? If that sounds like you, you might really love the most recent Kickstarter project, the Memoto. This “life-logging” device is designed to capture photos of everything you doing every 30 seconds and can store up to two-days of photos before you’ll need to upload them elsewhere.

I have to admit, this seems like overkill to me. On the other hand, if you are logging specific event and meetings, it could make sense. The premise of the Memoto is that life goes by so quickly we often miss out on things and this would give you a way to relive the past. While an interesting idea, keep in mind that 100 zillion pictures might be a little hard to go through fifty years from now when you want to “relive these moments”.

The device itself has a 5MP sensor and 8GB of internal storage. The Memoto can be worn on a necklace or even clipped to your shirt. It also has built-in GPS that it uses for cataloging the pictures with information such as where they were taken at. The unit is quite small at 1.5 x 1.5 x 0.5 inches.

Organizing all these photos isn’t going to be easy, but if you are really up for the task, Memoto will offer a subscription service – expected to price around $5 a month – that will help you organize the photos and archive them via the web.

The Memoto should arrive sometime in early 2013 and will come in orange, gray, graphite and white colors for $279. A Kickstarter commitment can actually snag it for even cheaper with a contribution of $199 or higher.

What do you think, interested in the idea of “life-logging” or not?
