Many hardcore gamers around the world could be medical miracles as they are still alive even after years of doing nothing but eating pizza and playing video games. Either you can continue your daily routine and end up being a memory, or you can check out the SMKCycle, which will allow you to do some exercise and at the same time enjoy the intense experience of playing Mario Kart. So, you will be happy that you are playing a video game and your mom will be happy to see that you are finally burning some calories.

So, what’s this all about? The SMKCycle is an exercise bicycle which has been modified to work as an SNES controller. With it, you will be able to cycle your way through a Mario Kart course. You just have to keep pedaling at a certain rate to accelerate, and you will find buttons on the handlebars for turning left or right. There’s also a red button in the middle of the handlebars for special items.

But it appears like it’s a bit hard to control as the buttons are really sensitive. But you will get the hang of it after a few practice sessions.

Hori 3DS Steering Wheel Stealing The Limelight

Nintendo’s Mario Kart 7 will be rolled out in December, but another video accessory maker is grabbing the limelight. Hori has just recently announced that it will be releasing a 3DS compatible steering wheel which is officially licensed by the big N. Amazon’s Japanese Site Andriasang has already listed the details without the photos but reports have it that the device will have a big L and R buttons to provide gamers with better control. A few press shots of the unit make the steering wheel look like a combination of the iPhone Helix grip and Wii Wheel of Nintendo. What do you think? Hori also stated that the steering wheel will be sold at the time when Mario Kart is released in the market. Hori steering wheel will be out in Japan and there is no news yet about it being released overseas. The device is pegged at $17 (¥1,280).

Mario Kart Tune Played by RC Car

What we have here are several hundred wine bottles strategically filled to play a perfect tune of Mario Kart while an RC car with a spring hammer drives by tapping them. I wonder how long this took to setup, regardless, it kicks ass.

Jailbroken iPad plays Super Mario World and Mario Kart

What could be the best game to hit the magical Apple tablet, Super Mario World for Super NES, is made available by jailbreaking the iPad and then running the Cydia app. Although unconfirmed, the use of the WiiMote on the iPad does seem do-able, considering it is Bluetooth and all. The second app SNES4iPhone shows Super Mario Kart on the iPad, the downside to this one is that you have to use the touchscreen controller. Will the iPad’s glory be through hacks? Only time will tell.
