LG Optimus Dubbed “Thrill 4G” on AT&T

The first 3D phone to hit the U.S. will be AT&T’s version of the LG Optimus 3D, dubbed the “Thrill 4G” for American markets. With dual cameras, a dual-core 1GHz processor and a 4.3” glasses-less 3D display, the phone will undoubtedly outshine the Windows Phone 7 HTC HD7S announced for release alongside.

Tasteless Marketing By LG Kicks Steve Jobs In The Face

LG’s marketing is tasteless to say the least. They release a video for the newly announced Optimus Pad, aka G-Slate, with a simulated “Spec Fighter” video game challenging what clearly resembles Apple CEO Steve Jobs and the iPad, not so cleverly renamed to the A-Pad. LG’s unnamed Ninja kicks Jobs in the face at about the 1:00 minute mark of the video.

LG Optimus smartphone and tablet launched on Android 2.2

LG Optimus Android 2.2 devices launched

Why announce a single device when you can announce a whole new brand with a complete new lineup of devices? Apparently, that’s the strategy that LG is taking with its new Optimus series. The main feature of this line is that they will all be powered by Google Android 2.2 froyo, at least for now. Optimus devices include both high-end and entry-level Android devices, so the latter will likely be left out of future upgrades to Gingerbread.
