There has been talk of a white Nexus 4 for a while now, but now it’s official. The company has announced that the white version will make its way to Hong Kong at the end of this month, and will roll out to other countries in Asia, Europe and North America over the next several weeks.

So what’s new besides the color? Even though rumors claimed we might see a spec boost, or even the addition of LTE support, no such luck.

The white Nexus 4 is EXACTLY the same as the black model, with the exception of a white back. In fact, even the front is still black, which has been met with mixed reception, depending on who you ask.

For those that need a brief refresher on the Nexus 4′s specs, it has a 4.7-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 8MP camera, 2GB RAM and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

As for the price? More than likely it will keep the same pricing as the original black Nexus 4, $299 for 8GB or 16GB for $349. Though here’s to hoping that Google will introduce a price cut in time for the new color variant. Probably not going to happen, but we can dream, right?

The LG Nexus 4 is now starting to receive an update to Android 4.2.2, after first being spotted on the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7. The latest version addresses the bug issues with Bluetooth audio streaming and provides small UI tweaks, but at the same time it also kills off LTE.

That’s right, if you were one of the lucky few that lived in an area that supported the limited LTE frequencies given off by the Nexus 4, you will be disappointed (though probably not surprised) to know that the latest update patches that capability up.

If you really want to keep your Nexus 4 LTE going, you will likely have to wait around for third party ROMs that re-add LTE to later versions of Android like 4.2.2. Still, for most Nexus 4 users, this probably isn’t a real concern. For those that own the Nexus 4, does the LTE “fix” affect you or not?

After a little over a week of managing to stay online, the LG Nexus 4 8GB model is now out of stock at Google Play once again. The good news for those that don’t mind the idea of signing a two-year contract is that T-Mobile is now offering the Nexus 4 for just $50, for a limited time only.

When T-Mobile’s two-year contract was $150 for a phone you could get for $300 completely unlocked through the Play Store, the idea of going contract seemed kind of pointless. At just a $50, the idea has a lot more merit now.

So what’s the catch? Other than the contract, this price is only valid for new T-Mobile customers. If the idea of getting the Nexus 4 on contract for $50 interests you, you have until February 18th to sign up and get it at that incredibly low price point.

What do you think, worth it or not?

Recently Google finally started selling the LG Nexus 4 once again through Google Play, the only downside being that it was estimated to take one to two weeks for the device to ship. The good news is that things seem to be moving much quicker than Google Play suggested. The first shipping emails have now went out, quite a bit ahead of schedule.

From the reports coming in, both the 16GB and 8GB models are now shipping for some customers. Keep in mind that if you order a LG Nexus 4 today, there is no guarantees that you too will get such a quick turn around (the page still says 1-2 weeks), but it is sure an encouraging sign.

So have you finally ordered the LG Nexus 4 or have you decided to wait off for another upcoming handset like the Sony Xperia Z or Samsung Galaxy S4?

A new shot of the LG Nexus 4 has shown up on the net, first appearing by way of PhoneArena. The picture shows off the LG Nexus 4 decked out in a new white shell, with silver-trimming around the LED flash.

It’s hard to say where this comes from or what it means, but it certainly looks legit. Whether Google plans to launch the white version on Google Play soon or not remains a mystery for the moment.

As you can except, there will likely be nothing else different about the phone except for the new white look. So what do you think, would you like to get your hands on the LG Nexus 4 adorned in white or do you prefer the original black model? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Epic news folks, the Google Play Store is carrying the Nexus 4 again for U.S. Customers. Additionally the German Play Store has also reportedly received stock of the Nexus 4 as well– so the bottom-line is to check your region’s store now and jump on the possible opportunity to get your hands on the LG Nexus 4.

Now for the bad news. They might be listed for order, but they aren’t necessarily fully in stock just yet– as indicated by a long shipping time. The shipping time for the Nexus 4 is estimated at 1 to 2 weeks. Still, that’s a lot quicker than the many months several of us have waited so far.

So how long will the Nexus 4 stay this time? It is hard to say, but here is to hoping that LG and Google have finally put their act together and prepared enough stock to fully satisfy demand without having to list Nexus 4 as “Sold Out” once again. Anyone order their Nexus 4 today, or has the long wait resulted in you jumping ship to a different handset instead? Let us know in the comments below.

While the LG Nexus 4 is a solid device, it’s also pretty hard to come by. So what if you absolutely love what LG has done here, but want or need a phone now? You could buy the LG Nexus 4 on contract, or if you are really looking for a great deal you might want to at least think about the LG Optimus G instead.

While the Optimus G will require you to be locked down to a carrier for two years, it is actually almost identical to the LG Nexus 4. The LG Nexus 4 was based on the Optimus G with the biggest changes being the outer appearance and the LG Nexus 4 has stock Jelly Bean while the G has a skinned version of ICS but will eventually see an update to Jelly Bean as well.

Outside of this, the Optimus G actually has a few perks that make it stand above the Nexus 4. With the Optimus G you get 16GB of storage and microSD. Additionally, the Optimus G also has fully working LTE.

The best and most compelling reason to consider the LG Optimus G is the pricing, though. If you don’t mind going with a contract, Amazon Wireless is now offering the phone for just $49 with a two-year contract through AT&T.

This is nothing short of a steal. You get a quad-core 1.5GHz phone with 2GB of RAM for just $49, it is pretty hard to beat that. What do you think, willing to give the Optimus G a chance at this killer price point or not?

While LG has never been one of the most “high-end” brands on the market, the Optimus G and LG Nexus 4 certainly helped prove that they were quite capable of providing a product that was both well-designed and quite powerful.

While the LG Nexus 4 and LG Optimus G haven’t been on the market very long, that’s not stopping constant rumors from suggesting that the LG Nexus 4 and LG Optimus G2 are already in the works. In fact, some rumors indicated the G2 would even show up at CES 2013.

As you probably already know, it was a no show, but that doesn’t stop rumors. Now there are two conflicting rumors about the Optimus G2. Some say it will arrive at MWC in February for its first unveiling and will feature a quad-core processor and a full 5.5-inch HD display under the name Optimus GK.

Then there are some folks that say the Optimus G2 isn’t coming until Fall with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie in tow.

It’s hard to say which rumor is true, or if any of them are. The good news for LG is that people have taken notice of the Optimus G and Nexus 4 enough to actually buzz about its next-generation offerings. Are you excited about the idea of LG releasing a more powerful Optimus G2 in the not-too-far future?

According to LG, all the talk about the company discontinuing production of the Nexus 4 in favor of future handsets is just that: talk.

LG says that their LG Nexus 4 production isn’t being halted and that they don’t have any plans to stop supporting the Nexus 4. In fact, LG now has piped up and saying that the shortage with the Nexus 4 is nobody’s fault, and demand has simply been very high.

This is in sharp contrast to prior word from Google that seemed to suggest that LG Nexus 4 supply had been both scarce and erratic.

The truth is probably that while having a relationship with Google via the Nexus 4 is important for LG, there is probably more money to be made for them when selling their Optimus G instead. For that reason, Optimus G stock probably has been prioritized above producing the Nexus 4.

Although getting your hands on the Nexus 4 remains a difficult task, the good news is that it doesn’t seem like the Nexus 4 is being abandoned at this point, either.

Are you still waiting (semi-patiently) to get your hands on the Nexus 4 or do you feel that 2013 is/will yield better handsets that are worthy of your attention instead?

The LG Nexus 4 is a beautiful and powerful piece of hardware. It is an excellent phone and one of the best Android phones on the market right now– if you can actually managed to get your hands on it.

Recently LG reported that the massive shortages for the LG Nexus 4 were because their was “simply too much demand”. Now Google’s managing director for the UK and Ireland has spoken up about what he feels is really going on.

According to Dan Cobley, they are working on the situation and trying to fix it– but it is pretty much LG’s fault. Here is his exact words:

Dear all, I know that what you are going through is unacceptable and we are all working through the nights and weekends to resolve this issue. Supplies from the manufacturer are scarce and erratic, and our communication has been flawed.

Cobley has in the past stating he was looking into the issue for his customers, but eventually he landed on the conclusion that problems working with LG is the root of it all. So what’s going on at LG? It’s hard to say for sure.

If there is a shortage on components or assembly supply, its likely that LG is favoring its own LG Optimus G (which is basically the same phone, more or less) over Google’s Nexus 4. Again, it’s hard to say why there was a shortage in the first place.

Do you think this is all simply LG mishandling the situation, or do you believe that Google plays a big role in the shipping blunders for the Nexus 4 as well?
