If you’re running Android Jelly Bean on your phone or tablet, you will likely have tried out Google Now. If you haven’t then I strongly suggest you do. I’m currently running Google Now on my phone and I love the fact it can always tell me the shortest route home, the weather for my local area and even tell me if I’m close to the coffee shop I Google’d earlier in the week.

It’s easily my favourite built-in feature of Jelly Bean, and a killer feature for anyone trying to choose between an Android or iOS device right now, but this might not be the case for much longer!

Earlier this week a YouTube video (now removed) appeared showing a very realistic looking advert for Google Now for iOS. Then around the same time Francois Beaufort, a French web developer found pieces of the Google Now puzzle hidden in a development version of Chromium suggesting Windows and Mac OS users could also be getting some Google Now love.

True to form, Google is keeping quiet about both the video and the Chromium leak, but with so much evidence it sure is hard for them to deny.

The iPad Mini is the tablet Apple should have made all along. It’s thin, sleek, easy to hold, powerful and most importantly of all makes the regular iPad feel old fashioned and cumbersome!

With this in mind it comes as no surprise to us that purported iPad 5 cases suggest that the next generation 9.7-inch Apple tablet could feature an iPad Mini inspired design. The leaks from from case manufacturer MiniSuit, who have released a photo of the iPad mini case and current iPad 4 case along side the alleged iPad 5′s.

From the photos we can also see that the iPad 5 appears much narrower than the current iPad, possibly due to a thinner bezel, seems to have the same Lightning connector port and speaker placement as the iPad Mini and iPhone 5, and the hole at towards the top of the case could suggest a rear facing microphone.

With the iPad 5 launch not expected until Q3, we have plenty of time to see more leaks, which will either confirm or deny the redesign.

HTC <del>M7</del> One news is about as easy to find on the web as angry teenagers are in the comments section of YouTube videos. So what do we have for you this time around? Well according to @evleaks, this is a rendering of the HTC One which will be used as a press release image.

@Evleaks has been a great resource of HTC One (M7) news over the past few weeks, and it appears whoever the tipster is has close ties to the flagship HTC project.

Back to the rendering, we can see that the design looks very similar to the current iPhone and the recently launched Blackberry Z10. The phone also appears to have a rather large from camera sensor and looks to be running Sense 5 which is rumored to appear on the phone.

With less than a week from us actually seeing the real HTC One, do you guy’s think that this rendering is the real deal? Are you excited for the HTC One?

Building anticipation for the upcoming Windows Phone 7.8 release, a video that appears to be an early release of the Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade on a Nokia Lumia 900 has been leaked.

While this is a very short clip, not showing all of the features of the new update, it appears to be very fast and smooth on the Lumia. This update should be available to the general public in about 2 months.

While Windows Phone 7.8 isn’t as exciting as an upgrade path to Windows Phone 8 would have been, it’s still nice to see that Microsoft isn’t completely abandoning its Windows Phone 7 early adopters by giving them at least a few of the features from WP8.

Do you currently have a Windows Phone 7 handset, are you excited for the update or do you plan on getting a new smartphone soon, instead?

I remember reading somewhere that Apple makes more money per employee in one of its Apple Stores than any other retail business. Part of the reason for that is the stringent hiring process, but perhaps more importantly is the intense training process. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to earn the title of “Apple Genius,” you don’t have to wonder much longer; the internal training manual has been leaked onto the Internet.

The training manual has been posted on Gizmodo and it goes through some the different sections of the internal training. For example, employees are taught to never apologize for the faults of the hardware, rather directing the customer toward how an issue can be fixed. Your iPad or iPhone didn’t “crash.” Instead, it “stopped responding.”

Apple Geniuses in the making are told that they should “guide every interaction” and “strive to inspire.” They “enrich” the lives of their customers by taking “personal initiative to make it right.” The theme of empathy is pervasive through the manual, providing plenty of examples of how a Genius should respond to a customer’s problems. “I may know how you feel” and “I can see how you’d feel that way.” Or, “I felt the same way too unless I tried it for myself.” They’re also told not to correct the customer, but rather to “surprise” them with the great Apple features, starting a sentence with “as it turns out.”

It’s a fascinating read into the culture of being an Apple employee. It can feel a little cult-ish, but you can see why Apple can be so darn profitable while paying employees comparatively low wages for the kind of cash they’re bringing in.

When you’re an app developer, you want to make sure that your apps actually work. That usually means getting your hands on test devices, running the app, and ironing out the kinks that inevitably result. Nokia is a little different. It has this program called Remote Device Access (RDA) where developers can remotely access devices so that they can test their apps. It’s quite intriguing, really.

So, why does the Remote Device Access matter to us today? As it turns out, Nokia has listed no fewer than six yet unannounced cell phones on that service and developers can presumably book some time with them. Well, they can book some remote access time with them. The six devices are the Nokia 510, Nokia Belle 805, Nokia Lumia 910, Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 950, and Nokia Lumia 1001.

Now, we know nothing except for the model names, but the names should give us some indication as to what to expect. The Nokia 510, for instance, is likely a budget-level Symbian-powered successor to the Nokia 500. The Nokia Belle 805 could be a cheaper, lower-spec’d version of the Nokia 808 PureView. All of the Lumia devices will likely be powered by Windows Phone 8 and hopefully not just WP7.5. The larger number of the Lumia 1001 may point toward a Windows tablet, but that’s little more than conjecture at this point.

This “leaked” front panel is coming by way of one of Apple’s suppliers.

To be fair, what you see here is the leaked front panel for what is reportedly the next-generation iPod touch. At the same time, it is reasonable to think that the front panel on the new iPod touch will be in line with the new iPhone, especially if both are going to be increasing in screen size at the same time. What’s curious is that the opening in the middle measures 4.1-inches, whereas several current rumors are saying the “iPhone 5″ will have a 3.95-inch screen. And then there’s the Wall Street Journal saying that it’ll be “at least four inches.”

If we take all of these at face value, the 3.95-inch screen could easily hold up, since the display doesn’t have to completely fill out the 4.1-inch opening. You’ll also notice that the relative dimensions are different too, making for a “taller” iPod touch and iPhone. This changes the aspect ratio of the display, from what we can tell, so this could prove problematic for the porting and development of many iOS apps, at least in the short term.

Along with the leaked front panel are leaked images of what we think are the front and rear cameras on the next iPhone. It’s likely that there will be no real difference from the perspective of the end user compared to the iPhone 4S, but the rear module is missing the LED flash.

The Apple iPhone 5 is certainly a much anticipated device, and so is the Samsung Galaxy S 3. We have already heard a lot of rumors regarding the upcoming Android handset and what you see above is thought to have come from a public relations PowerPoint file. Is that really the S3 we have been waiting for all this time? We believe it is most probably not.

The new leak suggests that Samsung is planning a Samsung Unpacked event in London on May 22nd at which the Galaxy S 3 will be introduced. There is nothing unbelievable about that since the “unpacked” events have become a tradition and also a European launch is probable as they went with that for the S2. London is a good place to introduce the handset as the Summer Olympic Games is going to happen there. But all the other details available suggest that we might be looking at the work of a good artist who loves working on fake images. As you can see above, Weber Shandwick, which is a PR agency, has their logo on the powerpoint. We’re not sure if PR companies usually do that. The other tip off, that dedicated home button is all too apple-esque.

The S3 appears to be extremely thin, measuring in at 7.89mm (possible, but still sounds fake). And it isn’t very unlikely that Samsung would design a white device with a black ring around it. The S 3 will probably come without a Home Button, similar to the Galaxy Nexus, which is a design that we also are expecting from Samsung. So the conclusion is that the new leak has come out with a lot of inconsistencies, so it is most probably a big giant fake.

But that date really sounds sweet. As for the specs, rumors so far are suggesting a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, a 4.8 inch “full HD” 1080p resolution display, 4G LTE support, Android ICS, and an 8-megapixel rear cam.

Stay tuned for updates.

As with all these kinds of leaks and rumors, you have to take them with a grain of salt. Earlier today we were told that the leaked picture above was the battery and the camera module of the iPhone 5. Internal components like these may not be too exciting to most, but they do reveal something quite interesting.

Now it’s been revealed by Kyle Wiens from iFixit that the photo is actually of an iPhone 4 module, not the iPhone 5, and was recognized as such by the iPhone 4 upon connection and usage. Obviously, it is completely possible that the iPhone 5 has the exact same camera module as the iPhone 4. That would be a bit disappointing, but completely possible.

Apple is no stranger to reusing parts. And to be fair, the iPhone 4 has one of the best smartphone cameras today. Apple could be improving things by way of software rather than by way of upgraded hardware. Either way, we won’t know for sure until October.

It looks like a leak of BBM 6.0 has made its way onto the web and it comes with a few colorful new features that your current BlackBerry Messenger may not have. One of the most notable changes is the inclusion of color-coding your contacts.

You can already organize your contacts a variety of different ways, but the “at a glance” color coding could come in handy when you’re in a rush. The icons toward the bottom are the fun colored ones too, so I guess they want to have a little more personality this time around.

You can check out the screenshots for a better idea of what to expect, but the expectation is that BBM 6.0 will roll out as part of BB OS 6.1. Although you can grab the unauthorized version of the former now, it’s recommended that you don’t lest you want to deal with some unnecessary headaches.

Now the question remains, how will BBM look like RIM decides to port it over to other platforms? Will other smartphones get this color-coding too?
