The iPhone 5, or the “New iPhone” which some people are calling it, will most likely come with a larger screen, thinner form factor and 4G LTE. But in all reality, we have no idea what it will look like. Perhaps Apple will go towards a more iPod-esque design, reverting back to the natural curves of the 3GS, or they may go with a larger, boxy iPhone 4 style. ADR Studio has come up with their latest vision of how the iPhone 5 will look like, and they are also speculating on some of its features.

“Every Apple concept is a new challenge. The cool thing is you can use your own imagination to create some features don’t exist on the market, focusing on design aspect and futuristic approaches.

First of all it’s sim-less: it doesn’t use a simcard by our phone mobile operator. It can grab your data directly by the mobile network, also in 4G LTE. It uses a new audio section, with two panel speakers, on the rear of it aluminum forged unibody. All the controls are now on the top and the edge is so thin! The great news is the new iPhone haven’t just one retina display. It has three ones!

One strip screen is on the top, to show you all the network infos, clocks, notifications and so on. The bottom one is for App dock, multitasking panel and so on. The central one is only for the desktop: more space, more freedom. The home button is integrated into bottom strip display and it can be activate thanks to the closer motion sensor. Obviously the new iPhone has Siri, gyroscope on 4 axis, motion sensor, as you know and the other great features of the previous iPhone 4s. In addition you’ve a “led powered edge”. You can use it to show the strength of battery life or to show you a preferred caller: you can choose the color thanks to the led edge dedicated app.”

Looks like the latest rumors surrounding the Apple iPhone 5 are starting to substantiate rumors we already heard earlier on. If you’ve been hoping to get your hands on the newest iHotness in time for school this September, you will be sorely disappointed. Instead, it looks like the launch date has been pushed back to October.

According to the latest reports, you won’t have to wait until the end of October though. Instead, the current rumor points toward an October 7th release, at least in the United States market. Pre-orders will apparently start on September 30. Why the repeated delays? Well, it looks like at least two factors are playing into that.

First, Apple is apparently dabbling in 4G LTE for the iPhone 5. That’s going to take some carrier testing, but we’re also hearing that some LTE radios are being installed in certain Apple Stores. Secondly, we’re hearing that the iPhone 5 will be a true world phone, except it could go with a SIM-less design. Everything would then be software-based, allowing users to switch to different carriers without having to swap out a physical SIM. The iPhone itself would have multiple radios in tow: CDMA, GSM, LTE, and so on. It could have three or four internal antennas. It’s also been rumored that the iPhone 5 will feature a SIM card slot for other countries except the U.S, so users could insert any SIM card in the iPhone when traveling abroad.

These are just rumors, but the push for a SIM-less design really would help to reinvent the iPhone all over again, especially if they make it remarkably easy to switch between carriers. This would also imply that all the iPhone 5s would need to be factory unlocked, regardless of carrier subsidy.

Everyone and their grandmother (almost literally) is sitting on pins and needles waiting for Steve Jobs to cross the stage yet once again to reveal how he’s changing smartphones all over again with the iPhone 5. The latest rumors point toward a September launch, so until then, we have conjecture and hearsay. We also have the latest mockup of the iPhone 5, based on the most recent and most accurate information available.

Note that this is indeed a mockup and not the real device, since none have been left behind at a random bar (at least not yet). The most prominent change is the move away from the flat edges of the iPhone 4 and toward more of an iPod touch style roundness. It’ll also reportedly have more of a “teardrop” profile, not unlike the MacBook Air, tapering from fat at the top to thin at the bottom.

Some early rumors pointed toward a stretch to a four-inch screen, but now a 3.7-inch Retina Display is starting to sound more likely. This will have the same resolution as the iPhone 4, but will get much closer to an edge-to-edge display with virtually no bezel. Further still, the earpiece and sensors might be behind the screen too, though we’re not sure how well that’d work.

Despite other rumors that the home button was being abandoned, it seems that an expanded home button could be in the works. This will provide a gesture area that is not unlike the Palm Pre 2 (except Steve will say it’s completely different and then sue HP/Palm over it later). Similarly, an inductive charger might be in the works, again not unlike the TouchStone on the HP/Palm phones.

And it’s gonna be a world phone, meaning it could utilize the Qualcomm Gobi chipset for some dual GSM/CDMA action. That could be good for Verizon.

What do you think? I like the near bezel-free design and I don’t mind the teardrop idea. I just hope that it really does bring something new to the table aside from a new shape.
