iGunCon App turns iPhone 4 into gun for iPad 2 Time Crisis

Easily one of my favorite arcade games of all time is Time Crisis. There were other on-rails shooting games, to be sure, but Time Crisis revolutionized the genre by adding in that pedal for duck-and-cover action. Now, you can have a similar experience when you pair your iPhone with your iPad and make use of the new iGunCon app.

Official Nintendo games finally coming to Android and iOS

pokemon

If you really wanted to get a Nintendo-flavored hit of gaming on your Droid or iPhone, you could have already nabbed an SNES emulator and a few ROMs, but that’s hardly official. Well, that’s changing and I think some pigs may have just grown wings: Nintendo is finally developing for both Android and iOS.

Online multiplayer featured in Street Fighter IV Volt for iPhone

sfiphone

I love fighting games. As much as I like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on my Xbox, I still find myself turning back to Super Street Fighter IV to get my fix of hadoukens and ultra combos. The iPhone version of Street Fighter IV has now received its official successor in the form of Street Fighter IV Volt and it comes with at least two very notable upgrades.

John Cena Is One Angry Bird in WWE Superstar Slingshot

wwe-smackdown

Angry Birds is a huge hit and Rovio has spun off a series of sequels. And then, you’ve got the knockoffs like Angry Turds. Well, there doesn’t much more turd-slinging than in the square circle of professional wrestling, so we somehow find ourselves looking at WWE Superstar Slingshot for the iPhone.

iPhone Goes Retro with Pinball Magic “Appcessory”

pinball-magic

As great as touchscreens may be, they rarely offer the same kind of visceral experience as you get with real buttons and real moving parts. That’s kind of the idea behind Pinball Magic, a mini pinball cabinet for your iDevice that goes along with the free app.

You don’t have to deal with bureaucracy and TPS reports, but you do need to get a functional network going.

Angry Birds Seasons ready for the holidays

mzl.mzenhnde.320x480-75

They could call it the Christmas Edition, but Rovio probably wanted to be a little more inclusive. If you’ve already got three stars on all the stages in the original, then it’s time to upgrade your way to Angry Birds Seasons. Those enraged fowl are back for another battle with the pigs and, as you can expect, much of the action remains the same as the first game.

FarmVille spawns on the iPhone, crashing and freezing the newest feature

FarmVille released for the Apple iPhone

Let me preface this by saying that I am not a fan of any of those Facebook games. I don’t want to know about your new fish in your aquarium, and I am not at all interested in joining your Mafia family. Even so, it seems that these games are more popular than ever and none are quite as iconic as Farmville. If you can’t get your farming addiction satiated through Facebook, then you’ll be glad to hear that you can take your rake on the go with Farmville for iPhone. This is a mobile version of the casual game, offering much the same functionality as its Facebook counterpart.

Play out your fantasies with Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories for iPhone

zenonia-2.200

The gaming market on the iPhone and iPod touch started out with some casual puzzle titles and others that were meant to hold your attention for a couple minutes at a time, say in a doctor’s office or other waiting room. Soon after, however, we were introduced to fuller games that were comparable to their console counterparts. But what about the RPG genre?

There isn’t much to be found in terms of role-playing games on the platform, but it looks like a pretty good option is coming up in Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories for the iPhone and iPod touch. The successor to the first Zenonia will be submitted for App Store approval this week, so it should be showing up soon.
