“Keys, phone, wallet: these are the only three things you have to remember.” That’s exactly the same mentality I have about leaving the house and I make sure I always have those three things. But what about keeping that phone charged? Carrying around a bulky AC adapter or USB cable just won’t do and that’s why Noah Dentzel, Adam Miller and Brian Hahn came up with the ChargeCard.

The idea is actually really simple and straightforward. It’s a credit card-sized device that can effectively work as a USB charge and sync cable for the iPhone. The USB connector simply flips out on a flexible arm and then the other end of the ChargeCard goes into the dock connector your iPhone. They only have the Apple-friendly model at the moment, but they say that they’re working on a microUSB version too. And then they’ll need one for the smaller dock connector on the upcoming iPhone 5, if rumors are to be believed.

The dock itself looks relatively simple with a place to dock your device. In the front, there are two USB ports that can easily accept modified NES-style controllers for two players. And then around the back is the HDMI output to connect to your HDTV. The developers took advantage of the pre-existing Bluetooth input standard from the Ion Audio iCade, since it already provides support for over 100 iOS games.

The $100 early bird is sold out, but if you pledge at least $125, they’ll send you a ready-to-play GameDock complete with the two retro USB controllers and an HDMI adapter. Bump that up to $150 and you’ll get “a bundle of games” too. They’ve set a funding goal of $50,000 and with 27 days to go, they’re already up over $40,000 in pledges.

Available from USB Fever for $99.99, it’s a docking station for your iPhone that’s meant to mimic the experience you may have once had with an old rotary dial landline telephone. I remember having one of these at my grandma’s place, listening to that dial click-clack its way back with number entered. The iPhone gets an accompanying app to simulate that experience.

As for the dock itself, it will keep your iPhone charged and it can connect via the 3.5mm headset jack so that you can use the provided handset to complete the retro experience. I’d say that $100 is a little on the pricey side, given that you can probably pick up an old rotary phone from the thrift store for a few bucks, but there’s just something a little more hipster about having your rotary phone as an iPhone dock.

Typically, when you’re playing your games on your PC you’re largely restricted to a keyboard and mouse. You might use some other peripheral controller, but that’s generally the norm. What if you wanted a little more? With the Power-Grid iPhone app from Roccat, you can get that.

Working in tandem with that pretty-looking iPhone dock, the accompanying app extends your gaming experience to the smaller screen of your iDevice. It comes with three pre-installed control grids, each of which brings a different function to the gaming table. The Incoming Center grid shows your voice and text from TeamSpeak, Skype, Twitter, and so on. This way, you can stay in communication without having to minimize your gaming window or get an extra monitor.

Similarly, the Stats Control grid is used to show you system information, like your CPU stats, network traffic, and current RAM usage. Finally, the Sound Control grid gives you quick access to your audio controls, not unlike the Windows audio mixer. If you like listening to tunes while gaming, it can also be used as a media player remote.

The cool thing is that you can use some free software and design your own custom grids for Roccat Power-Grid. Depending on the game and your needs, shoving in some macros or web shortcuts could prove handy. There’s only space for one custom grid at a time, so if you want more, you’ll need to sell out 99 cents each. Interestingly, the app connects to your gaming PC via Wi-Fi and not through the shown wired connection. That’s the Project Apuri dock and it’s used just for charging.

Roccat says that while the iOS app will be ready for public beta in a few weeks, they are working on an Android version that should also launch around the second half of 2012.

It is pretty common these days for many radios to have an iPod docking station, but AOC is taking the concept to the next level by integrating a dock into their new Aire monitor.

The AOC Aire (aka e2343Fi) features a 23” Full High Definition experience with a resolution of 1920×1080, and will come with a built-in dock that supports both iPhone and iPod, allowing you to have all your multimedia content delivered to the monitor using plug-and-play technology.The monitor will also include SRS Premium sound as well.

For those who love the idea of quick access and integration of all their important media content, or just a way to get iPhone apps up on the big screen, the AOC Aire certainly looks like a tempting choice.

To be fair, the Swivl doesn’t really track you the way that you’d expect. Instead, it’s really keeping track of the marker. You can place that on your person (which almost ruins the shot), hold it, or attach it to the thing you want the camera to follow. It’s not ideal since it’s not terribly stealthy, but it does seem to be a cool concept.

While the developers did create the Swivl (it was originally called the Star) for the iPhone, it could just as easily work with any number of compact camera that are about the same size. It’s just that the cameras won’t be able to make sure of the iPhone charging function. The original prototype only did horizontal tracking, but the final product will tilt vertically too.

The goal is to have Swivl launch in North America in early 2012 for an expected retail price of $159.99.
