No matter how enjoyable your iPad experience may be, if there is one thing that could be changed about the tablet is that it’s not going to compare to your home theatre when watching movies. And who wants to hold it in their hands for a two hour movie? Well, if you have $169.99 kicking around, your iPad movie experience can be changed cinema style. iLuv, known for crafting some mighty fine Apple accessories has announced a new docking unit for the iPad, called iMM514, ArtStation Pro; set to turn your tablet into a home entertainment center.

The iPad is attached to an articulated swiveling arm that allows both landscape and portrait positioning, in whatever angle you like. The big base actually incorporates a huge stereo speaker, for making your home theater experience even more real. The iMM514 by iLuv is the perfect accessory for enjoying movies, music or TV shows, while sitting relaxed on the sofa; controlling your iPad and positioning the dock can also be done via the wireless remote control. The new dock is also compatible with the iPhone and the iPod too and comes in a stylish design that fits any decor.

The ArtStation Pro sorta makes your iPad look like an iMac G4. It should arrive at iLuv retailers this month.

iLuv i1166 Portable Media Player Launches Next Month

We all know that the iPod family, with the noted exception of the shuffle, is capable of playing video content. However, even when you step up to the bigger screen of an iPod touch or iPhone, the display still isn’t really big enough to enjoy longer movies and television shows. Enter the iLuv i1166 to address this very concern, especially for frequent travelers.

The iLuv i1166 isn’t completely groundbreaking in scope, since iLuv has already released similar products in the past, but this portable multimedia player is a great option for watching movies on the go. That’s because iLuv has stepped it up to a 9-inch widescreen digital TFT LCD display, making for a perfect size to watch videos on an airplane, bus, or car ride.

The i1166 will accept any contemporary iPod and the Apple device will actually be housed inside of the iLuv player, eliminating the need for messy cables and other attachments. The iPod will also charge up inside the i1166 if you have the player plugged in via the provided AC adapter.

In addition to iPod compatibility, the iLuv i1166 also has a spot for regular CDs and DVDs, including the data-only versions with DiVx video, MP3 files, and so on. Rounding out the specs are USB expansion, SD/MMC expansion, full subtitle management, and fast motion playback.

The iLuv i1166 portable digital multimedia player will ship in mid-October for $269.99.

iLuv’s Tiny USB Charger Adapter for the Car

We need USB ports everywhere we go, because so many of our portable gadgets these days allow for charging through USB ports rather than through conventional wall outlets. These include the ubiquitous iPod and iPhone. Perhaps the most convenient in-car solution to date is the newly announced iLuv iAD 115 Micro USB Car Charger.

It’s not exactly innovative in what it offers or what it does, but this has got to be one of the sleekest designs we’ve seen thus far. The idea is that that plugs into your car’s available 12-volt outlet (the cigarette jack) and converts it into a powered USB port.

Other companies have offered similar products, like the Griffin PowerDuo Universal, but the Micro USB Car Charger from iLuv barely sticks out of the 12-volt outlet. This is not unlike the tiny flash drives and Bluetooth dongles that fit almost completely into USB ports.

There’s a blue power LED to let you know when it’s working and it’ll output a standard 500mA to quickly charge your iPhone, iPod, or any other USB devices using an appropriate USB cable. The iAD 115 on its own is $14.99. You can alternatively bundle it with a USB cable, wall adapter, or wall adapter and USB cable for $29.99, $29.99, and $39.99, respectively.
