Ever dreamed of turning your iPhone or iPad into a TV? Your wish comes true thanks to the EyeTV adapter from Elgato and Dyle mobile.

The device works with a 30-pin connector, making it designed around the older iPad and iPhone accessories, but it does work just fine with a Lightning adapter. The pocket-sized device allows you to pause and resume live TV, gives you access to a program guide and is absolutely NOT tied to your Internet connection. This means that you won’t have to use Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G in order to get TV service.

This unique solution works with all iOS devices at version 5.1 or higher and sets you back just $100. Not bad if you want just basic free channels without much hassle. Is it worth the $100? Depends on what you are looking for. In today’s high-speed Internet environment, watching all the latest shows is as easy as Netflix, Hulu or even a Satellite/Cable provider’s video hub. Still, if you are going to be in an area that has limited Wi-Fi or mobile broadband coverage, this is a great way to watch your shows without needing a connection to the net.

What do you think, interested or not?

With so many reports backing up the idea of a smaller iDevice Connector, it pretty much seems like a done deal- but how small is this port exactly? The original reports suggested it was likely around 19-pins (instead of the current 30-pin layout), but this is in contrast to new reports that claim Apple is going even smaller with a sleek, 8-pin design. The 8-pin design rumor is supported by two separate anonymous reports which indicate the new cord will have just a single row of eight pins.

Such a small size doesn’t seem unreasonable, though many users are still up in arms about the idea of having all their precious iAccessories made extinct by the change. Luckily, not all accessories will be left out in the dark, as unofficial confirmation suggests a new adapter will allow most accessories to continue working with the smaller connector. Like the Mac’s MagSafe connector, one of the benefits beyond being tiny will be the ability to plug the cord in on either side without an issue, so it will easy plug in without the fiddling.

Now the question remains, are we looking at a 19-pin or 8-pin mini-connector? Hopefully the question will be answered at the rumored iPhone 5 reveal event on September 12th. What do you think about a new, smaller iDevice connector?

Up until now, only older iDevices have had the ability to downgrade to previous firmware versions using the Limera1n exploit and SHSH blobs, but that ability has now been ported to newer A5-powered iDevices like the third-gen iPad and the iPhone 4S.

This news comes by way of the iPhone Dev-Team, stating that redsn0w version 0.9.11b1 directly supports the restoration of older firmware versions to your jailbroken iPhone or iPad. There is no need for a bootrom-level exploit and the new feature can be found under Extras -> Even More -> Restore.

Of course, you’ll need the personalized SHSH blobs to be able to downgrade to that firmware; these blobs can then be remote or local for the restoration process. It’s also important to note that the A5 downgrade will update to the latest firmware before reverting back to the older one. What this means is that Apple can eventually close the exploit with a newer firmware, but they haven’t yet.

As always, proceed at your own risk and discretion.

Annoying co-workers and unmanageable older brothers causing trouble in your life? Help has finally arrived, provided you own an iPhone 4S/4/3GS, or iPad/iPad2 or iPod touch (or all if you are rich and a bit crazy about all things ‘i’). The iLaunch Rocket Launcher is a weapons system which will allows you to rain darts on those who intrude your personal space; and it can be controlled with your iDevice.

Of course there are a lot of others ways to take care of the intruders, such as letting your fists do the talking. But that’s certainly not recommended as co-workers are humans who can get hurt and complain to your boss, and older brothers are usually bigger also.

The iLaunch Rocket Launcher, which allows you to take revenge on the annoying ones in an “entertaining and legal way”, will let you fire foam darts at targets as far as 25 feet away. All you have to do is get the iLaunch Controller App available free on the App Store and the launcher can be controlled via your iDevice (running iOS 5.0.1 or higher).

The iLaunch comes with air powered pistons for firing the darts and rechargeable Lithium battery which can be charged via your computer’s USB port.

But it doesn’t look like it can actually give you immunity from the annoying intruders. We have a slight feeling that it might worsen the situation, but 25 feet of range means more time for you to run to safety. Yet, firing darts will always be fun, especially if your enemy is also equipped with an iLaunch. So, are you interested in a battle? Head here if you are looking forward to playing with the $79.99 iLaunch Rocket Launcher.

Your iPhone should be making your life a whole lot easier thanks to all the features that it brings with it. But for accessing all that power while you are driving your car requires complicated docking accessories or different types of cables, or a well trained brain for handling your car and the device simultaneously (not recommended!). But all that will change with the arrival of Dash, a car stereo system custom-made to fit the iPhone 4 and 4S.

As soon as you connect your iPhone to Dash, it starts charging the device and also lets you turn your iDevice into a car audio system of its own. You will be able to place your phone safely into Dash’s faceplate (yes, no more stowing your device in cupholders) and simply access everything via your iPhone’s touchscreen.

The system amplifies the audio and could also be used with GPS and navigation apps. And non iOS users should not feel left out as the company, Colorado based Devium, is reportedly working on faceplates that will fit Android and Windows Phones. But the only problem is that you will have to give up access to your car’s current radio and satellite hook-up, but there are several apps out there as good replacements.

The $300 stereo system is a kickstarter project and it appears like the campaign has raised more than enough money the company needs to manufacture and sell it. But if interested, you can still show your support. Check out the video to know more about Dash.

Aluminium unibody. Shiny glass back. All these are well and good, but they also make for a very cold and industrial-esque feeling iPad 2. For people who want to add a dash of class to their iProducts, some wooden cases from Miniot might be a good bet.

I’m not entirely sure if this is really any more “green” that using plastic and metal (I hear bamboo is a good choice, though, since it’s about as sustainable as it gets), but it certainly gives your iPhone, iPod, and iPad a distinctly different and possibly distinguished look. Standing out from the Miniot collection is the Miniot cover for iPad 2. It’s carved from a single piece of certified wood and serves as both a stand and a cover. Pricing starts at 50 Euro.

Having a wooden case for my electronic devices isn’t exactly my kind of style, but it might suit your preferences. Beyond the iPad, they’ve also got cases for the iPhone 4, iPhone 3G/3GS, and even the iWood Classic. Because, well, Steve Jobs isn’t going to let that die any time soon, so you might as well chop down a spirit tree in the interim.

You decided to buy an iPad because you figured the screen on the iPhone was too small for proper video watching. Go ahead and bump that number up to a 60-inch display with the Wowwee Cinemin Slice. It may look like just another dock, but it’s rocking a pico projector under the hood.

This means that you can dock your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad and it’ll beam the appropriate image onto a blank surface for you. If said blank surface is about ten feet away, you get a resulting image of up to sixty inches. It’s got 1000:1 contrast, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 16 ANSI lumens, but a paltry 854 x 480 resolution may have you thinking twice about buying this hack job novelty DLP projector.

It’s not a total hack though, as it also has a pair of six-watt speakers, a headphone jack, infrared remote, mini-HDMI input, and other AV ports for added connectivity. Too bad there’s no SD slot. This beast will empty your wallet at $429.99. Look for it to ship in January 2011; pre-orders begin November 23 at Wowwee.

One point to having wireless devices like the iPad, iPhone and even the iPod touch, is that you can do just about everything you want without being “plugged in.” Soon, you’ll be able to do one more everyday thing on the these devices, and that is to print.

Wireless printing will come courtesy of the new Apple AirPrint wireless printing app slated for release later this year as part of the iOS 4.2 iOS update. November to be precise, and it will that wireless tree killing button to your iDevice. If the iPhone 4′s camera wasn’t so bad, you may have actually wanted to print a photograph wirelessly. I can see this being a big hit for wireless transactions and providing a real, non-virtual receipt.

It looks like the Print app on iTunes store won’t be very usefull after this.
