Last November I wrote about a concept iPhone attachment, the iCam. It was a unique little device that envisioned what the future of iPhone photography could look like. Now comes a completely different concept device, though it also it all about taking Apple photography to the next level. The iPhone PRO is a concept device designed around a 4.5-inch wide LCD and 2 side buttons. The device also has a 1.2MP 3D Camera, and is has a lovely 1280×800 display.

This an interesting looking concept, but keep in mind that it is nothing more than just a theory of what a 4.5-inch device with a professional camera design might look like. Beyond rumor, we have no real evidence that Apple is playing a larger display iPhone. I strongly question the idea of Apple further fragmenting the iPhone line with multiple models at once. This just doesn’t sound like an Apple move, but I could certainly be wrong. Also, I’m sorry to say it, but that huge lenses just seems to look a bit awkward and weighty.

The iPhone 4S was recently applauded by Celebrity portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz for its excellent point-and-click capabilities. It is clear that in recent times the iPhone has certainly become a worthy replacement for the average digital camera.

Steve Jobs once said he had the desire to revolutionize the mobile phone industry, how to watch TV, and photography.

The Apple TV began this revolution on the TV front and if rumors are correct than it will continue this goal through the speculated Apple Television.

On the phone and camera front, we have the iPhone. It certainly can’t be argued that Apple’s iPhone is on the cutting-edge of both photography and next-gen phone technology, but what if Apple took Job’s vision of revolutionizing photography just a bit further?

This is where ADR Studio comes in with its next concept device, the iCam. The studio envisions the device as a special accessory that works in conjunction with the iPhone 5 to bring photography to the next level.

The concept device simply connects to an iPhone 5 and brings the following features to the party:

Aluminum Unibody

Interchangeable Apple-Lens Lenses, with iMount mounting system

Front touch screen for self-portraits and for micro-app

LED Flash

Front pico-projector

SD UHS-i slot

Siri compatibility

Motion sensor

ISO range from 100 to 3200 (extendable up to 6400 equivalent)

Full HD at 60fps

10.1-megapixel sensor

Bluetooth

Certainly an interesting concept, though would Apple make such an implementation? From what I’ve seen it doesn’t seem that likely, though if we’re lucky I’m wrong. Will the iPhone 5 continue to improve and revolutionize camera technology though? It is probably a safe bet.
