Hulu Plus just received a new update for Android today, integrating the “Hulu Kids” section into the app, providing ad-free content with kids in mind. This new feature also adds parental controls into the mix.

With more families ditching traditional desktops and laptops in favor of Android tablets, this is a really isn’t too surprising. Keep in mind this kid section has existed elsewhere for quite a well now, such as on game consoles like the Nintendo Wii.

Other changes to the app include an enhanced content discovery tray, improved video playback on select devices, and a bunch of bug fixes. Hit the link below to update Hulu to the latest version now.

It’s official, the Hulu Blog has now confirmed that they are rolling out Hulu Plus to Apple TV boxes, today. While Apple TV is a beautiful box, it’s also been left behind a little when it comes to recent multimedia apps and programs such as Hulu, making this update an important one for those who enjoy the Hulu service. With both Netflix and Hulu alongside existing offerings like iTunes, the Apple TV is starting to look better than ever.

Similar to the Netflix version, you will be able to pay for Hulu Plus service through iTunes and it will feature styling that it very Apple-ish throughout the Hulu Plus app. For most users it should just auto-update, but if you aren’t seeing in on your device, try rebooting.

We’ve seen Google TV implemented in certain HDTVs and Blu-ray players already, but the NSZ-GS7 will be Sony’s first standalone set top box to feature the Google TV platform. As you might remember, Google TV is essentially a modified version of Android that lets you stream online services and otherwise enjoy your multimedia content.

It’s like the Apple TV, sort of, except it’s Google. Set to ship July 22, the $199 Sony NSZ-GS7 is being marketed as an “Internet Player,” since you can use it stream such services as Hulu Plus and Netflix. You can also use it for browsing the web and using certain Android apps. The remote control is Bluetooth and, interestingly enough, it has a touchpad on one side and a QWERTY keyboard on the other.

There’s even a three-axis motion sensor in there, which will let you interact with certain Android apps and games like how you would on a smartphone or tablet. If you don’t like the provided remote, you can download the free iPhone or Android app to control the set top box instead.

Realistically, though, I’m not sure anyone would really want to spend $199 for this when there are similar “media players” available in the $99 range. I can’t imagine this will do wonders in improving the adoption rate of Google TV.
