Want a chance to get your hands on the LG Nexus 4 from Google Play? Now is your chance! The phone is going back in stock at 12 noon, PST. Don’t expect it to last long.

We can’t say how many handsets will be ready and waiting, but if you are at all interested, I would start hoovering around the Google Play site as close to 12 noon PST as you can. Don’t expect these to last long, though hopefully the site will be less wonky this time around. From what we are hearing, US Nexus 4 would-be owners can get the device in both the 8GB and 16GB models. The bad news is that it seems the Google Play store is leaving out the rest of the world. So this is a bit of a bittersweet announcement.

Are you planning attempt to snag an LG Nexus 4 today? If so, let us know how it goes later on. Hopefully stock will manage to stay in place for more than twenty minutes this time around.

Update: Not too surprising, but the LG Nexus 4 is already sold out. Didn’t take long, once again. If you are still waiting patiently for the LG Nexus 4 all we can say is keep your chin up, the time will come eventually. Did you manage to snag a Nexus 4 today or not?

Update 2: It turns out that Google is NOT out of stock. They simply weren’t putting too much up at once in order to prevent their site servers from becoming too bogged down. At least at the time of this update (Nov. 28th at 7:38 U.S. Central Timing) both Nexus 4 models are in stock.

Update 3: Shipments dates for the 16GB version are being pushed back dramatically and the 8GB version is listed as “Out of Stock” once more.

While the LG Nexus 4 has sold extremely well and received a ton of positive feedback, it seems that it isn’t without a few problems as well. New reports are starting to arise regarding Issue 39936 on Google’s website, which pertains to listening to an earpiece on the Nexus 4. More specifically, so far 135 users claim that while using an earpiece, there is a very faint buzzing and clicking.

Clearly, given that more than 135 people bought a LG Nexus 4, it is not affecting everyone, at least not enough to complain about it. However, after you just shelled out $300+ any little bug is annoying enough.

The main concern seems to be that the sound is coming from the earpiece which sounds like it is always on. Therefore, battery drain could become a problem with this part of the phone running 24/7. So far Google has yet to address the problem, even on the forum. This leads us to believe that the issue is minor or Google has already begun work on a fix.

With the Nexus 4 currently out of stock and ‘coming soon’ back to the Google Play store, hopefully Google and LG will be able to work out a quick fix. Usually, problems as small as this stem from software and not manufacturer error by LG. Are you experiencing buzzing or other noise problems with your Nexus 4? Let us know in the comments below and report it on the Android Issues website here.

One way that you can save on your cell phone minutes is to utilize the Wi-Fi calling feature offered by T-Mobile. Your call gets routed over your Internet connection and you can keep your bucket of minutes. Earlier, it seemed that T-Mobile would be supporting the Wi-Fi calling feature on the Google Nexus 4, but this no longer appears to be the case.

The earlier outline from T-Mobile support had Wi-Fi calling listed as a feature on the new LG-made Android smartphone, but the information has since been updated to say that Wi-Fi calling is not supported.

Besides Wi-Fi calling, the Nexus 4 has some pretty awesome features. It comes with Android 4.2 installed and a beastly quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5Ghz processor. It also comes with a 4.7-inch IPS+ LCD display at 1280 x 768 resolution. Overall, Chris Burns, who reviewed the phone for us, was pretty impressed with what it brought to the table.

This doesn’t mean that the Nexus 4 is a bad phone and it doesn’t mean that you can’t still get around this with some other VoIP service, but it is a shame that this native feature isn’t being supported. This might be because T-Mobile can’t customized the Android OS under the hood of the Nexus 4 the way it can with other phones that can be skinned.

While you can pick up the factory unlocked Google Nexus 4 outright from the Google Play Store for $299 (8GB) or $349 (16GB), T-Mobile is selling it on a two-year contract for $200. You save some money, but you get tied down for 24 months. And you still don’t get Wi-Fi calling.
