In the string of major announcements from Google in the past week we are pleased to report that Google Instant has left Beta and is now available worldwide for mobile devices.

English users have already familiarized themselves with the new feature over the last month – that handy new search feature which pops up search results in real-time as you type. It has now been formally rolled out and available in 28 languages and 40 countries around the globe.

For mobile users on an Android 2.2+ or iOS4 devices just navigate to your Google homepage. You’ll notice a Google Instant link beneath the search box, which you need to tap to enable the feature. Best to test it out on a WiFi connection but even with a half-decent HSDPA connection you should be able to play around with the feature.

In a few years perhaps we will look back on December 2010 and recognize it as a watershed moment for Google. The Chrome OS, revamped Gmail for Android and shipping of the first Chrome OS notebooks would be monumental occasions in their own right for most organizations, but for Google it seems like just another week. We can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us in 2011.

In case you are not familiar, Google Instant starts to provide search suggestions (and results) as you type in your target search term rather than waiting for you to hit the enter button. From your iPhone or Android device, you can flip the Instant switch (a “turn on” link) located under the search bar. This is also how you can turn it off if it gets annoying. Google Instant isn’t flawless either, here are some funny suggestions that have come up. Does the po, can som, scaring, and how do i get.
