Steve Jobs writes open letter admonishing Flash

When the Apple iPad was first unveiled to the world, one of the most common questions that people had about the device was “why isn’t there Flash support?” In like manner, you’ll find a lack of Flash support on the iPhone and iPod touch devices, and Apple isn’t going to change their position any time soon.

If Apple’s actions didn’t speak loudly enough for you, Steve Jobs has issued an open letter wherein he basically says Flash is broken and wants it no where near any mobile device. The open letter is a full 1500 words in length on Apple’s history with Adobe, their shortcomings, and where they presently stand. You can read it below.

Flash 10.1 support coming to Android 2.2 Froyo

While the boys and girls in Cupertino aren’t quite as interested in Flash, the Google peeps are coming forward with a little more love on the Android front. More specifically, Gogole Android 2.2 will come with official support for Flash 10.1.

This is according to a New York Times interview with Gogole Android project lead Andy Rubin. The next major Android release, version 2.2, will have support for Flash 10.1, but the wording in the interview isn’t clear as to how this will happen.
