Ever dreamed of turning your iPhone or iPad into a TV? Your wish comes true thanks to the EyeTV adapter from Elgato and Dyle mobile.

The device works with a 30-pin connector, making it designed around the older iPad and iPhone accessories, but it does work just fine with a Lightning adapter. The pocket-sized device allows you to pause and resume live TV, gives you access to a program guide and is absolutely NOT tied to your Internet connection. This means that you won’t have to use Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G in order to get TV service.

This unique solution works with all iOS devices at version 5.1 or higher and sets you back just $100. Not bad if you want just basic free channels without much hassle. Is it worth the $100? Depends on what you are looking for. In today’s high-speed Internet environment, watching all the latest shows is as easy as Netflix, Hulu or even a Satellite/Cable provider’s video hub. Still, if you are going to be in an area that has limited Wi-Fi or mobile broadband coverage, this is a great way to watch your shows without needing a connection to the net.

What do you think, interested or not?
