You may have noticed that smartphones are getting increasingly larger displays. We used to think that a 4-inch screen was pretty big, then along came 4.3-inch screens, then the 4.65-inch Galaxy Nexus, and most recently, the 4.8-inch Galaxy S III. Hanvon Chairman: e-Readers to replace cell phones

Chinese company Hanvon, makers of the Touchpad B10 tablet, are also known as Hanwang. Chairman Yingjian Liu during a keynote speech at Computex 2010, discussed the increasing popularity and evolution of the e-book reader. He proclaimed the strengths of the e-ink format and how his company was leading the way in his home country of China. Then, his declarations got very bold. He called the e-book reader the "fourth screen," referring to TV, PC, and cell phone as the other three screens. He observed that some people say the mobile phone will replace the e-reader, but he responded by saying that the e-ink book reader will replace cell phones instead.

Apple to release iPad nano in 2011?

The Apple iPad has only been on the market for less than a week and it hasn't even launched in Canada yet, but that hasn't stopped a Digitimes analyst from predicting the future of the platform. While the iPad is bigger than the iPhone, it seems that we could be getting an iPad nano too. According to a senior analyst at Digitimes, Apple is planning to release a smaller version of the iPad that will boast much of the same functionality, but in a smaller form factor.
