Dell Lightning strikes with Windows Phone 7

De

Not particularly impressed with the Dell Mini 3i? Don’t really want anything to do with the Dell Streak series? That doesn’t mean that the giant computer maker isn’t going to go after your smartphone dollars with yet another offering. In a very exciting move, it seems that we could be getting our hands on the Dell Lightning smartphone.

While the hardware looks pretty slick (and I’ll get into that a little further in just a moment), the real news is that this will be powered by Windows Phone 7. Windows Mobile has really fallen into the background these last couple of years, getting overshadowed by the iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android (and even webOS from Palm to an extent), so this could be a major boon for Microsoft.

Dell Streak tablets now showing 7-inch and 10-inch flavors

Dell Streak Tablets side by side Photo: Engadget

Late last year we caught wind that Dell was working on an Android-based tablet of some kind and that it would be called the Dell Streak. At the time, we only knew about a five-inch variant, but now it seems that Dell wants to tackle the iPad head on with a couple more Streak units.

Shown here are the two new Dell Streak tablets that may soon be hitting the marketplace. For starters, the display sizes are much more in line with the current tablet range, being shown with a 7-inch screen and a 10-inch screen.

Dell expands Latitude E-Family laptops, includes the semi-rugged E6410 ATG

asd

Dell continues to be one of the biggest computer companies on the planet, so you know that they have to trudge ahead with new units from time to time. Continuing with this, Dell has expanded its Latitude line with at least three new E-series notebooks.

Well, that’s not completely true. They’re not completely new, per se. Instead, the Dell Latitude E-Family got “refreshed” with some “enterprise-class control, design, and collaboration for mobile computing needs.”

AT&T announces Dell Aero, reincarnation of the Dell Mini 3?

AT&T Dell Aero - Photo: AT&T

It looks like AT&T is expanding their lineup again. Already with the prized and coveted iPhone, the new Palm phones from earlier today, and joining the family is a new Android phone called the Dell Aero. Looks familiar doesn’t it? That’s because it’s basically the same handset as the Dell Mini 3 that has been on sale in China for a little while now and we suspected back in January headed this way. The critical difference – aside from the clear language alterations – is that the phone is branded as the Dell Aero, and no, you won’t be seeing this on 7-11 shelves.

Many people will tell you that the Dell Inspiron Mini is one of the best Hackintosh candidates on the market, especially since Apple doesn’t produce a netbook of its own. As it turns out, Dell’s little machine plays quite well with Chrome OS too, thanks to a little help from a Dell technologist. This is […]

Super Slick Dell Adamo Notebook Drops $500 in Price

Super Slick Dell Adamo Notebook Drops $500 in Price

I’ve been told by a few friends of mine that Dell doesn’t know anything about making a good-looking notebook. The base Inspiron models can leave a little to be desired, especially when placed next to an ultra chic MacBook Air. That’s changing with the Dell Adamo and the entry point is getting cheaper too. When […]
