After taking their clues from Google’s Chrome Browser, SRWare created Iron, a portable web browser, based on the “Chromium” source code, that has only one focus: the user’s privacy and security. The Iron Portable Web Browser has disabled search suggestions, URL tracker, removed client ID reporting and disabled Google updates and crash reporting features. Sure this sounds a bit drastic, but Iron seems to have one goal in mind, to hide from Google.

There have been several improvements since version 3; they say performance and speed has been greatly improved, and have increased the preview thumbnails from 8 to 12, the extension system with GUI is stable, and so is bookmark synchronization. Linux versions will be released soon, the Mac version can be downloaded here, as well as the PC version.
