The Nexus 10 may soon be getting a new way to charge its battery. A forum user on Android Central recently showed off a new Pogo charger on the site which apparently hooks onto the phone using magnets instead of fumbling with a traditional cord. This system appears to be similar to the MagSafe chargers for MacBooks.

The forum user claims that he works for the direct supplier of the cable to the Korean manufacturer Samsung. He stated it should hit Amazon and Ebay soon for $19.99 – $24.99. The photo supplied in the post appears to fit a Nexus 10, but at this point nothing has been verified and we can not confirm any details at this point.

The Nexus 10 is still proving to be quite elusive to get a hold of though as the 32GB version is still showing as “Out of Stock”, but the 16GB version appears to be available. This looks like it will be a cool alternative to charging with the microUSB option and we will post more as soon as we have details.

What do you think, is it worth paying the money for such a connector?

The PlugBug is a small adapter that attaches to your Apple notebooks power adapter and adds a USB charger capable of charging your iPhone or iPad. The add-on couples to your Apple charger, in place of the extension cord or plug adapter, allowing you to leave one of your chargers at home.

This sort of simultaneous charging is especially beneficial when you have two devices and only one power outlet, without any means of diverting the power to the second device. PlugBug users a 10 watt charging system, which essentially is in accordance with the charging protocols of iPad and other Apple mobile devices. Because PlugBug takes its power directly form the wall socket it charges much quicker than having the iPad plugged in your 5V USB port. The PlugBug Charger is currently available on sale with a price tag of $34.99.

With the help of the i-Green, you can use your legs to recharge your cellphone.

Chinese designer Fandi Meng has created the i-Green, a charger you can attach to your bike and use to charge any portable device. It uses the kinetic energy from the motion of the bike wheels and turns it into electricity, giving your dying cellphone or mp3 player a boost while you pedal down the street. There are a few bike-powered chargers on the market, but they use a hub dynamo to charge your portable device. Dahon has a bike-charger called BioLogic ReeCharge that sells for about $100 US.

Nokia released a bike-charger earlier this year, but it’s meant to be used in developing countries where electricity isn’t always available. Nokia hopes to expand the bike-charger to European markets later this year, where bicycles are often the main form of transportation. Both the Nikon and Dahon bike-chargers use a hub dynamo, which is a generator built into the hub of a bike wheel that usually powers lights on a bike. Since the i-Green relies on kinetic energy transformed into electricity to charge your device, there is no need for a hub dynamo and can be installed on any bike.
