Maybe you take exception to the name Samsung Galaxy S II 4G, because the current model arguably doesn't have "real" 4G technology. Well, that might be changing, because a slightly different version equipped with LTE code named "celox" has made its way onto the Internet.

Well, that might be changing, because a slightly different version equipped with LTE code named “celox” has made its way onto the Internet.

By and large, the 4G LTE version of the Galaxy S II looks much like its non-LTE counterpart, except the display has apparently been bumped from 4.3-inches to 4.5-inches. It retains that awesome Super AMOLED Plus goodness, though, as well as Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Rounding out the rumored specs are an 8MP camera, WiFi, 1750mAh battery, and Qualcomm APQ8060 processor. And yeah, the whole LTE thing.

Verizon already has its 4G LTE network up and Rogers is looking to follow suit by rolling out wider coverage and more LTE devices soon. Rogers did say that it was expecting to launch an HTC and a Samsung device with LTE this year, so the Galaxy S II LTE could fit that bill when it reportedly ships out in September. Good just got better.
