USB flash drives, as you know, are useful for storing your favorite songs, videos, important documents and more. And it’s certainly interesting when folks come out with new designs for their flash drives, especially when the design is inspired by war gear. The USB AK-47 Assault Rifle flash drive lets you save your data on the go and will also remind you that your boss will kill you if the work isn’t finished on time.

But the folks over at Brando appear to have done little research before naming the new product after Avtomat Kalashnikova. It definitely does not look like an AK-47 as it’s shorter (well, nobody would want to carry around a flash drive the size of an actual AK-47) and it also doesn’t come with the signature wooden color.

But take the AK-47 part out, and it’s your usual flash drive. Unfortunately it’s coming with the now ancient USB 2.0, probably to show respect to the aged rifle. You can choose from four different capacities including 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB, and will retail for $16, $18, $22 and $28, respectively.

But if guns are not your area of interest, you can also check out the USB Sword flash drive or the USB Hand Grenade flash drive.

Asus has a series of notebooks that make use of a bamboo finish. I’ve seen laptop cooling stands that are also made of bamboo. If you want to keep taking food away from the pandas, here is another option to add to your office: a full bamboo wireless keyboard and mouse set.

What’s interesting about this keyboard and mouse is that they are made fully of bamboo; there is “almost no plastic” here and the bamboo goes more than skin deep. Because bamboo grows in a tropical environment, it is particularly hardy against humidity. It’s also sustainable, since it grows relatively quickly.

The actual keyboard and mouse aren’t all that exciting with the usual set of keys and buttons. The keyboard has 108 keys, including some shortcuts, while the mouse has a rubber scroll wheel between its two bamboo buttons. Find it on Brando for $82.

The Nintendo 3DS isn’t the only one to do the glasses-free 3D dance. We’ve already seen the LG Optimus 3D, for instance, and this crowd is getting joined by the new Brando Gadmei P83 3D PMP too.

Brando is normally a brand I associate with random off-shore knockoffs and obscure accessories, but this is just showing that 3D is slowly but surely making a push into the mainstream. Let’s be clear: the Gadmei P83 is not really a tablet device. It’s a personal media player (PMP) with an 8-inch 1280×768 pixel display that happens to support 3D without glasses.

While there is a mere 4GB of on-board storage, you can load up your homemade 3D photos and movies through the available USB port and SD card slot. For now, it’s still a bit of a novelty and I’m not completely sold on the experience, but the Brando Gadmei P83 3D PMP isn’t terribly expensive at $179 either. If they tossed in some tablet functionality, possibly through Android, it might be a more interesting proposition, especially if they can keep the price point where it is.

It may not be the brightest idea in the world to have these as part of your carry-on luggage when you go on some international flights, but you have to admit that these USB hand grenade flash drives from Brando are at least mildly amusing. Nothing quite like explosive memory products, right?

As you can probably imagine, these bomb-inspired portable storage devices won’t really blow up. They won’t pose any more of a threat to your fellow passengers than any other flash drive, but you’ll certainly attract some attention from airport security… even if they are brightly colored and very plastic-y.

Aside from the unique hand grenade design, these USB flash drives come in your choice of blue, white, orange, or black, the last of which is probably closest to looking like the real thing. They’re USB 2.0, plug-and-play, and support Windows, Linux, and Mac.

The 2GB versions are $19, the 4GB versions are just a buck more at $20, and the largest 8GB models are $33. Find them on Brando and let the explosive fun begin.
