Blueant’s new Q2 bluetooth wireless headset may not be as crystal clear as having a person next to you, buts its claiming to be the closest out there. 1.5 years after the Q1 was released, Bluant has revealed the new Q2, and if it all works out as they have planned, the wait will well worth it. Aside from having superior noise reduction, The Q2′s state-of-the-art TTS (text to speech) engine will read out weather, news, sports, traffic updates and Microsoft’s Bing 411. The Q2 will also say who is calling you so you will not have to pick up your phone. When you get a call you simply say “ignore” or “answer and to make a call you simply say “phone commands.” If you are lucky enough to own an Android 2.0 smartphone or newer, the Q2 will actually read out SMS messages and E-mails for you! The Q2 features integrated A2DP streaming audio functionality, so you can listen to music, and get turn by turn directions from your GPS. Even better, you can even stream music from a bluetooth enabled computer to your phone. If you own a business, you can connect up to two phones and answer whichever one is ringing, and switch between phones and calls if both ring at the same time. The Q2 sells for $129 at AT&T.

What if you want to keep your hands free when you're using these rough and tough gadgets? BlueAnt has the ticket, it seems, because they're issuing a rugged Bluetooth headset.

What you see here is the new BlueAnt T1. It may look like any number of other Bluetooth headsets with its earloop and plain black appearance, but this is supposed to be one of the toughest headsets on the market today. Solid Snake would approve.

The post Get tougher with BlueAnt T1 rugged Bluetooth headset appeared first on Mobile Magazine.

We’ve seen more than our fair share of rugged cell phones. We’ve also seen all sorts of rugged notebooks, PDAs, and other handheld electronics. What if you want to keep your hands free when you’re using these rough and tough gadgets? BlueAnt has the ticket, it seems, because they’re issuing a rugged Bluetooth headset.

What you see here is the new BlueAnt T1. It may look like any number of other Bluetooth headsets with its earloop and plain black appearance, but this is supposed to be one of the toughest headsets on the market today. Solid Snake would approve.

Rather than use a standard-issue plastic outer shell, the BlueAnt T1 uses a special protective skin that allows it to survive a little more abuse – i’m talking about delivering clear audio in wind speeds of up to 22 mph while cushioning against impact and protecting against things like dust and moisture. The special skin is lightweight, made of silicon so you won’t notice any extra bulk.

The usual slate of techie goodness can be found in this thing too. It has the same verbal caller ID and voice-activated features that you’d find with other BlueAnt Bluetooth devices, 2,000 phone book entries, and A2DP streaming. You can even say “Answer” to pick up an incoming call (or “Ignore” to, well, ignore it). The BlueAnt T1 hits the usual suspects this May with an $80 MSRP.

People who ride around on four wheels have the opportunity to use a series of different Bluetooth car kits. They can use a headset, speakerphone, or even something integrated into the car stereo. BlueAnt is paying a little attention to the two-wheeled counterparts with the launch of the Stereo F4 Interphone Motorcycle Kit.

It may be winter and you may not have much of an opportunity to go for a cruise in this snowy weather, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t prepare yourself for the spring and summer months ahead.

With the Stereo F4 Interphone Motorcycle Kit from BlueAnt, riders can communicate wirelessly with their phones, but this helmet-based solution will also connect to GPS devices for voiced turn-by-turn directions and audio devices for A2DP-sourced music.

Seeing how quality motorcycle helmets aren’t exactly cheap, it’s not surprising that BlueAnt is asking for $225 for each “wireless entertainment system.” You can choose between full-faced and open-faced helmets, but try to keep the music at a reasonable volume. Wouldn’t want you to miss the warnings of your road companions.
