MacBook Air project meshes components into a mini portable-computer

macbookairproject-01

What does it take to get someone's creativity going these days? Not much. A free busted up MacBook Air did it for Bart, a guy behind The MacBook Air Project. He's been taking the guts of a MacBook Air, and integrating them into Apple's wireless keyboard. The entire package should be a bit thicker than the original Apple Wireless Keyboard, with a few noticeable changes - wires coming out of it.

Another leak reveals iPod touch 4 with 2MP camera, or does it?

iPod Touch 4G could be a fake, we'll have to wait and see

The DVT stamp is only added to devices when the design is very close to production-ready. And that makes sense, since the iPod line is probably due for another refresh in time for the new school year in September. What makes me want to yell fake is the fact that it's based around the old iPhone 3GS shell, wouldn't the next-generation iPod touch be a bit more resemblant of the iPhone 4?

Apple Magic Trackpad for the desktop is real

magictrackpadg07272010

Apple’s Magic Trackpad seems to be a real product. It’s about as simple as ripping one out of a MacBook or MacBook Pro, giving it a battery holder, some Bluetooth love, and now it’s magically for the desktop. I would probably go for this in a heartbeat, as I’m pretty fed up with swapping batteries on the wireless “Magic Mouse” that magically drains a brand new set of AAs in 3-4 weeks, or AA NiMHs in 2-3 weeks.

Naturally, people that paid for the bumper feel a little ripped off.

white-iphone-200

The white iPhone 4 has been delayed yet again. We may be led to believe that this is partly related to the whole "death grip" phenomenon, and it could be, but the official reason has something to do with the "manufacturing" process. Apple isn't entirely clear about what the problem is, but some have said the issue is getting the paint thick enough to look good while still giving enough space to fit it in the case.

Samsung rejects Apple’s claims on the Omnia 2 antenna

Apple's test showing the Samsung Omnia II

Samsung today joined forces with RIM, Nokia and HTC by releasing their own statement towards Apple’s distraction of drawing the competition into their Antennagate problem. Apple's tests showed the Samsung Omnia II being susceptible to signal loss via the “grip of death.” Samsung took their time in responding, perhaps because Apple uses a good number of memory chips from the company. So Samsung needed to be respectable and remain true to their manufacturing methods, but doing so without losing whiney customer.
