New Apple Patent Allows Internal Components to “Disappear”

The idea of hiding certain software components on a mobile device isn’t exactly new. Many modern Android devices utilize buttons that are completely within the software. When they are needed, they show up. When they aren’t– they vanish temporarily. Apple apparently wants to take the concept further though, and has filed their own patent. In traditional Apple fashion, it takes an idea we’ve already seen and puts a twist on it.

iPhone 5 Scuffing and Denting Problems Causing Shipping Delays?

Heading over to Apple’s website, you will find that the average arrival time for the iPhone 5 is now estimated at 3-4 weeks. Why so long? The obvious reason is that they sold like hotcakes and that Apple is having trouble coming up with enough shipments. A new report suggests an alternative, though. The problem has to do with the aluminum casing and the scratching problems that have been reported.

Several Developers Claim Apple Knew About Map Issues Before Release?

The Apple Maps fiasco is starting to boil over now. The Maps are starting to improve quite a bit now, even if they are still rather far from catching up with Google Maps. Samsung is going to war against Apple, claiming 4G LTE and other patent violations

When Samsung lost its major legal battle to Apple, Mobile Magazine warned that the battle was far from over. There would be appeals, and likely future lawsuits. Since then, Apple has prepped a new lawsuit against Apple and now even Samsung has confirmed they are going to war with Apple over the iPhone 5.
