iPad 2 Challenger: Android Honeycomb ASUS Eee Pad Transformer available to US late April

If you’re on the fence about going Android, still considering the iPad 2, but haven’t made a commitment just yet then maybe you should ponder things over for a little while longer. The UK and Taiwan release of the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer were a success; it shortened supply (doesn’t this always happen) for the rest of the world. Now with an end of April release, the $400 Android 3.0 (honeycomb) iPad challenger is set to make its debut to the US.

Samsung Responds To iPad 2 With Slimmer Galaxy Tab 10.1

Xoom Firmware Update Tonight Prepares for Flash 10.2 Release March 18

Tonight Motorola will be updating the firmware on their Xoom tablets, installing the “required enhancements” to make way for upcoming Flash 10.2. That doesn’t mean you Xoomers will have the promised Flash capabilities just yet, but the company has announced on its Facebook page that 10.2 will be available for download as of March 18.

ViewSonic Now Shipping ViewPad 10 With Android 1.6, Windows 7

ViewSonic is announcing immediate availability of the ViewPad 10 tablet we heard about last November. The 10-inch slate will most notably dual boot between Android and Windows 7, the hardware on board is an Intel Atom 1.66GHz processor, 2GB memory to make up for the lack of dual-core functionality, and the option of 16GB or 32GB SSD hard drives.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Deemed “Inadequate” By Own VP

Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy Tab 10.1 that came out of Mobile World Congress last month is being deemed “inadequate” by their very own mobile VP Lee Don-Joo. After Don-Joo saw the iPad 2 he said “we will have to improve the parts that are inadequate.”
