The Amped Wireless SR600EX Pro Smart Repeater has a 600mW amplifier and high-gain bi-directional antenna. What this means is that it can extend the range of your Wi-Fi transmissions by 1.5 miles. That should be enough, right?

The device also has two extra network ports for other devices and it’s designed for large buildings, boats, RV’s, you name it. It will be overkill in my shoebox apartment, though.
There’s also a brand new AP600EX Pro Access Point which can sit on the end of a wire network and do the same job for building-to-building connections.

Both devices are retailing for $180 from Amped.
