Today marks a day in Apple’s history. The Big Red carrier, Verizon Wireless, has after talks dating back to 2008, landed the worlds most popular smartphone on their network, the iPhone 4. A version that is described as being identical to AT&T’s, besides the CDMA sans-4G connection, will go up for sale on February 10th starting at $200.

So, now that we’ve gotten a really good look at the upcoming HTC Thunderbolt smartphone with its Verizon-happy 4G LTE connectivity, we want to take a closer look at the spec sheet to see if it really is all it’s cracked up to be. Some hearsay has revealed some new specs for the phone and, more likely than not, they’re probably too good to be true.

A rose by any other name… though HTC probably doesn’t want you referring to this device as a rose. Over the course of its development life this smartphone has been called the HTC Incredible HD and the HTC Mecha. Well, it looks like Verizon and HTC have finally settled on an official name and it’s the HTC Thunderbolt. Thor would be proud.

HTC Incredible HD with 4G bound to Verizon on January 6

I think the image provided here is pretty clear. There’s not too much ambiguity about it unless they really want to throw us into a loop. If this image is to be believe, the kind folks at HTC will be formally unveiling the HTC Incredible HD on January 6 and the smartphone will play happy with the newfangled Verizon LTE 4G network.

Droid 2, Droid X Snowbot commercial from Verizon shows Android’s dark side (Video)

Coke might have its polar bears, but Verizon has a big scary robot disguised as a kindly snowman. And it’s awesome. I really like the Droid commercials from Verizon, mostly because they remind me of things like Terminator, and this one adds a little festive flair to it. Bow down to your snowbot overlords.
