After the HTC J Butterfly emerged from Japan and arrived in the US as the Droid DNA, it is once again getting reborn as the HTC Deluxe for the international market. The core specs inside this “new” superphone will be the same as its Japanese and American counterparts.

While this isn’t going to come as a surprise to many of us, HTC and Verizon held their press event to today and unveiled none other than the HTC Droid DNA. For those that don’t know, this is essentially the US version of the HTC J Butterfly.

HTC J Butterfly coming to Other Asian Markets as HTC DLX?

We’ve known about the Japanese-bound HTC J Butterfly for a while now. The 5-inch 1080 monster looks to be one of the most impressive smartphones ever released, but what about outside of Japan? In the United States, Verizon is getting a rebranded version called the Droid DNA. The good news is that the rest of the Asian market is also getting the gorgeous 1080p phablet, under the name HTC DLX.

LG D1L Rumored To Have Built-In Wireless Charging

Korean website DDaily says that the handset boasts built-in wireless charging, a feature that will also be available with the Galaxy S III, if rumors are to be believed. According to the website, the D1L will be available in South Korea at the end of May via all the three major carriers, but no hints regarding its global availability.

Verizon Will Now Charge $30 Upgrade Fee For Extended Contracts

For the longest time, Verizon has remained the only one of the big carriers in the US that didn’t charge an upgrade fee when you go to re-sign a new two year contract, but not any longer. Starting April 22nd, Verizon will charge $30 for the upgrade process whenever extending a customers contract. You can read their exact words and reasoning for the change by checking out the statement put out by the carrier, but basically they claim that the charge was to better help them maintain their customer services and tools.

Droid 4 Coming February 10th?

Just yesterday, Droid-Life received a new tip that claims the Droid 4 is on its way very, very soon. In fact, just days away with a release date of February 10th. Supposedly this model will cost for $199 with a 2-year contract. The rumor seems at least somewhat believable considering it includes a screenshot from a Verizon equipment guide.
