First OTA update gets pushed to Google Nexus S already

Well, that didn't take very long at all. The hotly anticipated Google Nexus S with its Gingerbread-flavored Android operating system has been out for less than a week and it's already getting its first update. The Nexus S -- sourced from Samsung -- will get the first over-the-air (OTA) update bringing the system to GRH78, offering "important bug fixes" and the latest version of Maps.

amsung and Verizon are opening the doors on Galaxy Tab sales beginning this November 11th. The price is a whopping $600, that’s it, no discounts, subsidy, or anything else. My guess is the first round are in limited quantities, so they won’t have a problem selling it to early adopters who have a deep inner desire for a less than optimized Android tablet.

Late last week, we heard about the upcoming HTC Vision and how it would come loaded with Google Android Gingerbread right out of the box. Well, we have now learned a little more about this Gingerbread. One of the bigger surprises coming out of the rumor mill is that it will actually require devices to have at least a 1GHz processor as part of its minimum requirements. If that's the case, the dual-core 800MHz Vision may not technically reach that benchmark.

Forget about Google Android 2.2 Froyo. You'll want the newer Google Android Gingerbread (2.3) that'll come pre-loaded on the HTC Vision smartphone. At least, that's what the latest rumors are leading us to believe. We don't have any kind of firm confirmation, or even initial renders for the HTC Vision, but this smartphone sounds like it's going to be a beast. In addition to boasting a yet unreleased build of Android, the Vision will also get a dual-core 800MHz processor. This might be an underclocked version of the dual core Snapdragon, but I can't say for sure.
